Folks, this one has taken some work to pull off.  Not only is it Thankful Day, it's X day on the road from A to Z.  True to the previous three Saturdays this month, i am going to list thankful things that begin with the letter of the day.

How do i get myself into these things?  Never mind, on with the thankfuls.

A long, paved and covered walkway, or a walkway through trees, can be called xystus, and i'm thankful i've taken many a walk in such pretty places.

Food cooked over xylanthrax, also called charcoal, is very enjoyable.

It's a good thing i do not have xyrophobia, the fear of being close to or touching sharp instruments.  If i did, i could never chop foods for cooking.

Every day i am thankful for things that are xyloid, or woody, such as my wooden spoons for cooking.

Clothing that feels xilinous, or cottony, is very comfy and i am always thankful for comfy.

My clients and i are probably all thankful i am good at xesturgy, the process of polishing.

If i am traveling to a new place, i am thankful for a xenagogy, or guidebook, to help me out.

While i'm not always a good X-chaser, or person who is good at math and figuring the value of X, i am very thankful for the people who are, as they help make our modern life possible.

A condition i am thankful i do not have is xerochilia and xerostomia, dry lips and dry mouth.

Because of the internet, i have many a xenial, that is, friendly, relationship with a lot of people.

As a bonus, i am thankful i got through things for which i am thankful that begin with X, and i didn't have to use X-ray or xylophone, even though i am thankful for both of them.

Please join us and our gracious and wonderful hostess Kristi from ThankfulMe, write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful.

  2. I loved your unusual X words. Clever, and all of them new to me ;)
And then to the nitpicking: Netherlands celebrate the king's birthday. The name for it is Koningsdag (Knoiniinedag - as you have in the list - means queen's day and was the name of it until Willem-Alexander took over). And then I think you should add Willem-Alexander, 1967 to the birthday list ;)
