Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts that encourages us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided by River at Drifting Through Life.

This week's words are:

1. derision
2. mendacious
3. plethora
4. manuscripts
5. unfamiliar
6. gently

and/or:

1. vaguely
2. expression
3. ornamental
4. peppermint
5. spinning
6. narrowed

and this photo:

He had a PLETHORA of MENDACIOUS stories, explanations that were nothing but SPINNING a web to cover even his own DERISION for how his life was turning out.

Only VAGUELY did he realize how believing his own spin NARROWED his chances to break out into UNFAMILIAR territory, that of life beyond his own hurt and shame.

Never would he go GENTLY into the admission that he'd done it all to himself.  Sitting on an ORNAMENTAL bench, sipping a PEPPERMINT latte, he cast in his mind for the perfect EXPRESSION to use in the MANUSCRIPT he would write, another note of lies to buy him one more day of appearing to have it all together while living his out-of-control life.
