Gotcha! (Six Sentence Story), Makeshift (Good Fences), Get 'R Done (Sammy's Poetry Day), and Brian's Thankful Thursday

***********************************

“We are going to scrub the mission.”

His words were followed by protests and screams, the debris of his verbal bomb.

"You can't do that!" the one who had been assigned as his First said in a very low tone that no one else would hear.

"What choice do I have at this point?" he asked at his normal volume, refusing to be drawn in by what he knew was a petty attempt to make the others think there was more to their relationship than a simple pairing for this mission by the board.

"I've been feeding the board information," the First said, still using his softest voice, "that will get you replaced if you try."

Smiling, he said in an even louder voice, "The board was wondering who the informant was, you are very clever at hiding your trail, but they know the information was doctored, and I am wearing a microphone, and they will want to see your resignation in ten minutes, while the rest of us will continue with our work!"

Gosia at Looking for Identity has taken over Good Fences, and it's now Good Fences Around The World.  Post a picture of a fence or gate, link back to her blog, and go visit other blogs to see what interesting fences there are out in this big world.

When it comes to fencing, sometimes you use what you have!  (The picture was taken from the passenger seat of the car, so it's not the best, sorry.)

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:

Don't care what the neighbors think
Gonna do this before I have my drink
Of coffee warm and buttered toast
Get done before breakfast so I can boast!

Productive should be my middle name
Getting done early leaves no room for shame
And since I'm retired later on mayhap
I can take time for a mid-morning nap!

*engaging but so much potential in the Reader's part of the process which, in a good Six, such as this, is to fill in the blanks, the whats and whys and whos

  3. Oops for once language problem is rearing its ugly head. I do not undersand your story :( It's the first sentence: "Srub the mission" what the [bleep] does this mean - obviously not cleaning a place for conversion of people, but then what?
You're a good writer, and I loved your poem, but the 6 sentences? I feel terribly lost.
