Cat Shelter Welcome Mat/Understatement Of The Year (Wordless Wednesday) and Words for Wednesday

***********************************

Linking up with Wordless Wednesday and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

***********************************

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided by Cindi and are being posted by Elephant’s Child.

This week's prompt is:

You have the ability to mentally hear the honest answer to any question just by looking at the person and thinking the question.  It was all fun and games until you looked in the mirror and asked a question you shouldn't have.  What was the answer?

No.

You didn’t want to hear that, did you.  You wanted the answer to be the opposite.

Sorry, sweetcakes, this is it, your deepest truth, your greatest fear, and the answer, truly, is no.

What you do mean, what do you do now?  You live with it.  Day by day, moment by moment, you learn to live in your truth.

Yes, you can do it, no it won’t destroy you.

No, it won’t be easy, but nothing worth doing this much is easy.

And by the way, quit using this ability for funsies and start using it to help people.  Help them face their truths and learn to live in them, too.

That will be worth doing.

  4. Love that doormat. Your take on the prompt is well written, a bit cryptic, and rather gloomy. I think that last one is caused by the prompt. All our stories are gloomy, or depressing or both.

  5. Love the doormat. I would want to go in and meet them all.

  6. That doormat is funny. Mom used to be a real cat person and she had four felines at one time. Now we need that mat, only for dogs.
