Kitten Colors (Awww Monday), Thought-Provoking Quote of the Week, and Tomato Love (Poetry Monday)

***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

These kittens (which have been adopted since i caught the pictures) have such a soft, beautiful coloring, but they would not pose and let me catch it well.  Then one fell asleep:

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's a Thought-Provoking Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border.  She and Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey take turns providing a theme each week.   Charlotte/Mother Owl almost always participates, too.  This week the theme is Tomatoes, and i wrote a haiku and another poem.

Tomatoes are a
Fruit, but be wise, do not put
Them in fruit salad

Oh, how we love tomatoes!
We'd eat them every day
If they were from a garden,
Superior in every way.

But we're not much for store-bought
That's mostly what we get,
'Cause i don't have a green thumb,
As a gardener, i'm all wet.

If you want to share your bounty
With someone, it would be great,
Your extra garden produce,
We would appreciate.

We'd eat tomato salads,
Tomato sandwiches, too.
And every time we took a bite,
We would be thanking you!

  1. I am so with you about tomatoes. Fresh, garden tomatoes are delicious, and I am happy to eat them like fruit. Store bought? A pale shadow.

  2. I agree about the tomatoes. I have saved seeds from heritage tomatoes found in a local supermarket last summer, they smelled and tasted like home grown. I've given seeds so far to three family members and plan on giving seedlings to neighbours if they grow well.
The kittens are very beautifully coloured.

  7. Heaven knows, I love a good waffle but I had breakfast before I realized I could have celebrated a special food day.
Soooo....how do you celebrate day against intolerance without being intolerant? Just asking for a friend.
I love the Einstein quote. I think he is also credited with, "If you can't explain a subject to a six year old, then you don't understand it yourself."
Stay safe, stay healthy and have a blessed day.

  15. Mimi,

I like fresh garden grown tomatoes best, too! I haven't had any in years. My late in-laws grew the best. We have gotten some tasty ones grown locally in a near by county but this year I haven't gotten any with everything going on. Maybe next year thing will be better and we'll be able to do our own shopping again. Fun poem! Also great Sparks!!
