Garden Decor (Wordless Wednesday) and Words for Wednesday

 ***********************************

Linking up with Wordless Wednesday and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

***********************************

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided by Lissa at The Memory Tourist.

This week's prompts are:

orphan

island

farm

brother

freckles

red-haired

imagination

friend

charm

home

"Here you go!"

The words were as precious to her as "Welcome HOME" would be to an ORPHAN.

In her IMAGINATION, she'd always wanted to move to a FARM and having a FRIEND like this.  When grown people asked if she didn't want a BROTHER or sister, she'd always said "No!" decidedly.  Then she would add, "I'd rather live alone on an ISLAND!"  This made the grown people laugh, although she never understood why.  She was quite serious.

While moving to the country wasn't likely, this was a dream come true.  Her father placed the RED-HAIRED cat in her arms, and she knew they'd always be there for each other.  He had those cute, black lip FRECKLES that orange/red cats often get, which she thought gave him a certain CHARM.  He snuggled up to her, rubbing on her hands to ask to be scratched, then settled under her ministrations, purring.

Yes, having this cat was certainly a dream come true.
