A Local Workman's Motto (Wordless Wednesday) and Words for Wednesday

Linking up with Wordless Wednesday, Sandee at Comedy Plus, and BeThere2Day.

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided and posted by Elephant's Child.

The prompts are the following picture:

  • Gentle
  • Ordinary
  • Cards
  • Simple
  • Office

It wasn't often the lake stood still as glass with a hint of GENTLE morning fog.

This was so different from her ORDINARY days at the OFFICE she just couldn't get enough of this feast for the eyes as well as her camera.

How SIMPLE life is here, she thought, snapping another photo.  They would come in handy when it was time for printing up greeting CARDS for the holidays, one of her favorite things to do.

Maybe someday, she mused, I'll get to work remotely and be able to move out to an area like this.  Meanwhile, she picked up her coffee and headed to the pot to refresh it, settling in to enjoy the time off.

  1. Love that very true sign - nearly as much as I love your use of the Words for Wednesday prompts.

  2. I like the local workman's motto. Good write up with the prompts.

  3. I like work. I could sit and see others do it for a long time.

    God bless.

  4. Love that saying and so true too

    Have a cheaplesstastic week 👍

  5. That quote is right on and something people need to understand.

  6. Your right about cheap. We know that.

Love your use of the prompts. Dreaming is a good thing.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Big hug. ♥

  7. The local workman has it right! Love the photo and your take on the prompts! Cheers!

  8. That workman quote is too right!
I'll be back to read and comment on WfW when I have written simething myself - or given up.

  9. I think everyone would love to work remotely. :) XO

  10. Love that sign, so true! Truth be told, if I could have worked remotely I probably wouldn't have retired 4 years early. Good story!

  11. Your story is nice, has a very peaceful feeling to it. The quote is good, I've said it often myself but with 'shampoo' substituted for 'work'

  12. That photo of the lake/fog does seem peaceful. I think we all like to work in front of such a scene. Good use of the Words for Wed prompts.

    Have a lovely day.
