Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays. Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.
Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you. What better way to start the week than with a smile!
Ollie and Benji really love each other.

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week. While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border. Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey is on a blog semi-break and her poetry is sorely missed, we hope she comes back soon. Charlotte/Mother Owl participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in at least once a month, too. Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let Diane know!
This week the theme is Clocks.
When i was a young child
the clock was a mystery
and someone had to teach
the hours and hands to me.
By the time my kids came along,
analog was passé,
the digital clock itself told you
what was the time of day.
Of course, the abstract clock
had hands as you'd expect,
but with only 4 dots and no numbers,
oft the time even i can't detect!
To teach my kids the skill set
of reading clocks in our house,
we turned to a good old friend,
and we let in a Mouse!

ReplyDeleteI had trouble learning to tell the time as a child, but do prefer the 'look' of analog clocks..
Hope those kittens find a home together! Love that spark, great advice.
ReplyDeleteI like yout poem. Clocks with only dots, or dashes, are not so good. I'd like one with numbers and hands, just like the mouse one ;) (Mine has Donald Duck on it) And now I commited the faux pas of reading your poem before writing one myself. Bad idea!
ReplyDeleteThe kitties are cute. I loved your poem on clocks - very cute! We got each analog wrist watches when they got to the age of us to teach them. Digital watches/clocks don't teach anything. It's good to revert to old school learning. I think every teenager should first learn how to drive a manual transmission before upgrading to an automatic. Have an awwwesom Monday, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThey are soooooo cute heheh!
ReplyDeleteI liked that clock have a ticktastic Monday 👍
How lovely that there's a Poetry Monday. Great way to start the week.

I hope those sweet kitties get a together forever home. That is a good Spark and a great poem. It's sad that lots of youngsters can't read a clock face these days.
ReplyDeleteMy Remy and Shama...brother and sister...loved each other. They never fought. Shama still misses her Remy.
ReplyDeleteOllie and Benji are totally Awwwsome! And the spark is purrfect. Mom has 4 Micky Mouse watches, but the clock on the wall has a train that chugs around the whole clock every hour. And Mom LOVES bubble wrap! I can hear her popping now!! Keep being awesome Mimi! Purrs Marv
ReplyDeleteIt's so sweet when kittens cuddle up together. I like your poem. I prefer analog clocks to digital. I don't remember learning to tell the time, I seem to have just always known it.
ReplyDeleteThose sweet fur babies are cozy. Aw..... I LOVE them. I am so grateful I had to learn to write in cursive, read the hands on a clock and read the Dick & Jane books. That mouse was a great helper wasn't he? Love your poem! Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteAll cuddled and comfortable!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem! And I love that MM clock!
