Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays. Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.
Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you. What better way to start the week than with a smile!
Walking Mr. Cal can be an adventure if we meet up with some of his doggy pals from the neighborhood, out walking when we are. There was a "party in the street" as these 4 met up and had a bit of fun.

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week. While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border. Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey is on a blog semi-break and her poetry is sorely missed, we hope she comes back soon. Charlotte/Mother Owl participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in at least once a month, too. Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let Diane know!
This week the theme is Time.
No matter how you slice and dice,
you never get the same time twice!
*******
#2 Son and fiancée,
when walking their dog, Jock,
would stay out quite a while,
and she'd want to take stock.
She'd want to know the time
but not have to pull a phone out,
and #2 Son had a watch,
quite rare now, without doubt.
She'd ask him what the time was,
he's answer without remorse,
"Time for you to get a watch!"
then grinningly he'd tell her, of course.
These youngsters do love phones,
and like to keep up with the new,
with a family plan it's complex,
here's what we have to do.
The child in question and i meet
over at the phone store,
since they pay and we get a visit,
it never is a chore.
#2 Son has a job which
pays him very well,
he wanted the latest and greatest
and was excited, i could tell.
The gentleman who waited
upon us for that day,
was good at his "upsell"
and took the time to say,
"If you're looking for a bargain,
and I see a watch on you,
for only a tiny bit extra,
you can get the Apple Watch, too!"
I saw Son's eyes light with pleasure,
for what child of the tech generations
doesn't want all the gizmos and bling
and can resist such fun temptations?
He got the best new phone
which payment he could afford,
he also got the watch,
and because there's no need to hoard,
He promptly handed his old watch
to his sweetheart who next to him sat.
She put it on with alacrity
and grinned like a Cheshire Cat!
Then with eyes of mischief,
he said to her with glee,
"What time is it?" and she grinned,
"Time for you to get a watch like me!"
(Yes, true story.)

Dogs also look forward to meet their friends on their walks. Nice and entertaining story about your son's new phone and watch. He and his girl make a good match.
ReplyDeletePuppy party! I have three watches, all with flat batteries and the cost of batteries now makes it not worth replacing them, so I have three useless watches. I'm going to search for an old style wind up watch instead.
ReplyDeleteLove your story. Sadly my watches band has broken and I cannot find anywhere that is able to replace it (metal band).
ReplyDeleteA Puppy Party, that's truly wonderful when it happens!
ReplyDeleteThanking you for another stunning post of yours, I'm wishing you a most lovely Monday and new week
XO Daniela at ~ My little old world ~ (Dany)
I like those extendible dog leads. Ours stretches to the next town.
ReplyDeleteI have several watches with dead batteries. They have all stopped. I carry them all with me and wear them one at a time at the appropriate time they have stopped.
God bless.
We love running into friends on our walks too, but on leash makes it complicated especially when there are more than two dogs. Tangle is the name of that game, LOL! Great spark, very true.
ReplyDeleteAww! they are cute love seeing dogs friendly with each other when out :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wooftastic Monday 👍
It's so much fun to watch dogs meet and interact.
ReplyDeleteHas it been raining there? Be care to not step in poodle now.😂 Technology is super cool! DH got me an Apple watch in 2020 and I really like it. After he got mine, I knew I had to get him one, too. It's just nice to do things like that together. I wear mine practically 24/7. I like that it keeps up with my steps, reminds me when I need to stand, dings when I get a text message or other alerts, and I never miss a call. Great Sparks. You have to make time for everything always. Have an awwwesom Monday, my friend!
ReplyDeleteAwww on the pups catching up. Adorable.
ReplyDeleteLove the Spark and it's ever so true and your take on time made me smile. Even better that it's a true story.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs, my dear friend. ♥
Some days I think I would prefer all out brawls in Congress instead of the constant nagging, bickering, and name calling that our leaders(?) have embraced.
ReplyDeleteFunny poem. Watches have mostly become obsolete now. I also have a few not working ones lying around. My old, trusty wind-up watch was worn out; yup, the cogwheels inside had their teeth worn down. I had worn it daily for over 40 years. Now I'm looking for a new one, as I do not like to use my phone, often forget where I placed it, or plain forgot recharging it.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as if your son and her girlfriend are a good match.
Awww ~ sweet puppy party ~ so cute and great spark ~ so true ~ Xo
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Those pups sure were having a fun meet n' greet! That was a good Spark and a fun poem too.
ReplyDeleteCute pups. Great spark and story. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a dog party! A big dog party! (Sorry, favourite kids' book that I have memorized, after six kids and numerous grands!)
ReplyDeleteYour poems made me laugh! I'm going to use that on 'watchless' Husby who keeps asking me for the time!
