Days Off and Fun Mayhem, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

It's Thankful Day, and as usual, i've got a list.  I have to make a list or i lose track!

Last Saturday, we are thankful to say we successfully got GusGus Die Fledermaus (my bat gray Ford Focus car) back to NOLA to the dealership for them to fix, since it seems they are the only place that can or will.

I'm thankful they also know about the door latch recall and are already planning on looking at it.

Sweetie and i are both thankful Becca's father is willing to give him a ride to church on Sunday mornings for as long as we only have one car and i need it to get me there with Becca.

Thanks to my new schedule, i should now have every Tuesday as a day off, unless i decide to work Tuesday instead of another day during the week.  After almost 10 years with no regular days off, having one day a week to rest is going to be blissful.

This past Tuesday was the ladies' circle Ms. V teaches, i'm thankful we all enjoyed it.

Sweetie dropped me at work on Wednesday so he could go to a funeral.  We're thankful he got to go, the deceased was a former choir member we all admired and it would have been a shame to have to miss the service because of our car troubles.

We got through our work at Ms. SE's house on Thursday in about average time, and i'm also thankful Mr. DE has found a permanent place for a lock box and spare key so no more wondering if we're going to be able to get in the house or have to call one of them to come let us in when we go.

(As Mr. DE told me, "Normal people don't lose as many keys as we do and can keep a key on their keychain!"  They have had trouble with losing keys, a permanent spare in a lock box is going to be a blessing to the residents as well as us janitors.)

The MallMart wasn't super crowded when i went Friday morning before work, i'm always thankful for that.

Renting a car for the drive to NOLA was quick and easy, we're getting used to this routine and i'm thankful we have a way to get there until GusGus is repaired.

Last night at the shelter was crazy in a good way.  We're thankful for several adoptions, several donations, cats and kittens in isolation showing signs of getting well, extra volunteer help, and the doorbell just about ringing it's fool head off all evening with comings and goings.  It's a fun madness and mayhem and in the end, every cat and kitten has food and water and a clean, warm place to spend the night.
