Linking up with Wordless Wednesday, BeThere2Day, and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
***********************************
Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.
This month, Alex J. Cavanaugh is providing the prompts which will be posted by Elephant's Child.
This week's prompts are:
- Sword
- Hogwash
- Cactus
- Ghost
- Silver
- Rivers
AND/OR
- Spirits
- Potato
- Nincompoop
- Indigo
- Gemstones
- Learning
Charlotte (MotherOwl) has given us Mint Green as the colour of the month. If you can also incorporate it into your stories she (and I) will be grateful.
"A GHOST!?! What HOGWASH! There's no such thing."
"Be careful, Pops, he carries a SILVER SWORD set with GEMSTONES in a leather scabbard dyed INDIGO."
"Sonny, you have a lot of LEARNING to do, and one thing you need to learn is there's no such thing as SPIRITS, haunts, ghouls and other such. Don't be a NINCOMPOOP."
"Pops, watch out!"
"What in the world was that?"
"He threw a POTATO at us!"
"He, who?"
"The ghost, that's who. I told you Two RIVERS House was haunted. You shouldn't buy this place. Duck!"
"Now what?"
"This time he threw a CACTUS! Pops, let's get out of here before we get hurt."
"Sonny, I'm not saying I believe in spooks, but I will say, I'm not buying any place with Mint Green carpeting. Whoever decorated here had horrible taste. Let's go!"

Gratitude over grumbling sounds like an A+ plan to me. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with that sign heheh! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving 👍
Have a thanksgivingtastic week :-)
I edited your link to this one 👍
A sign for every day, not just Thanksgiving! That house was definitely a no-no, for more reasons than one!
ReplyDeleteNot much time to write today girlfriend cuz I'm teaching my daughter how to do Turkey & Dinner... she wants to take over for Mama next year! Oh I'll be there to supervise I'm sure, but she wants to do it then so be it. This ol' girl can use a break!!! HAPPY TURKEY DAY MY FRIEND & HAVE A BLESSED HOLIDAY & AMEN to your sign! hugs
ReplyDeleteWodless Wednesday - Yes, OK, I'll try!
ReplyDeleteThose are very good words, especially these days!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Mimi.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Amen to that yard sign! We all have plenty to be thankful for and that's what we should always have on our minds instead of what we don't have. There are so many people who have little or nothing at all compared to most and you know it's usually those people who show their appreciation with praise and thanks. I hope you and your family have a blessed holiday. Happy Thanksgiving, my dear!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with that sign! That was a really good story.
ReplyDeleteYes, I say choose Gratitude that the Rumbling in your tummy has been suffoncified. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI choose gratitude too. It's the best option.
ReplyDeleteMint green carpeting? Yikes. Well done.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Hugs. ♥
That sign is great -- we choose to choose gratitude, too.
ReplyDeleteFor many reasons, that place definitely sounds like a hard "no!"
Perfect sign for the holidays ~ says it all ~ xo
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
That sign is spot on! Fun story, I wouldn't want to live there either.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the cactus didn't hit target, but if things are being thrown around by someone unseen I'd probably believe there was a ghost. Mint green carpet doesn't sound very nice, but at least it could be ripped up and replaced. Great story, I was actually ducking as I read about the things being thrown.
ReplyDeleteFun story. :) XO
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
