It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Carl was awake, showered and having breakfast when i arrived yesterday, meaning they've put him back on the early shift, which he and his mom prefer.
By the condition of his room and the fact he'd done no laundry at all, i figure he needed the break from working in the afternoon heat, so i hit the ground running and didn’t look back.
This was the laundry when i finally got it all gathered. Four good sized loads.
Because he was leaving early, i got started right away making his lunch and getting his ice vest ready. He was ready to chat as always.
"It was trivia Friday," he started, and i asked if he'd had fun. "Yes, but Saturday Sam was tired so I went to David's."
Maybe she'll feel better this week, i noted, and he nodded. Then i asked if he'd gone to church.
"I think so..." he said, but knowing him, he did. "We haven't heard from the neighbors in a while," he noted.
Before i could respond, he said, "I guess I could just have crackers for lunch..."
No, i told him, i'm making you a sandwich, you'll have plenty for a snack for a four-hour shift.
He nodded, then started talking about an interview with a celebrity he'd watched, something about animals being let out, i never did get a clue to what it was about, and moved on to how he still needs to get his car inspected this weekend. He was telling me something about the lady at the repair shop where it had been worked on saying he needed to wait a few days (probably to make sure the check engine light was off long enough, they're picky about it).
Once he was done eating and i had his lunch packed and vest ready and everything in the ice chest, he started heading toward leaving. Started.

Half the cups and bottles are empty, or mostly empty. |
First, though, he had to have look in his fridge. Not much in there to see, but i'd snagged one of the bottles of iced tea for his ice chest already.
I asked him why he kept the empty cups, and he said, "I don't know," which is true, he really doesn't, and then he grabbed the open root beer container.
Please do not try to take the root beer with you, it will spill in the ice chest, i told him.
"Should I throw it away?" he asked and i told him, no, just drink it at the table with a meal. He nodded solemnly and put it back in the fridge.
About this time he'd wandered back into his bathroom and was asking me, "Should I take one?"
Since i can't see through walls and didn't know what he was talking about taking, i told him it would depend on whether he really needed it and a moment later he walked out of the bathroom saying, "I still need my Old Spice Where's the Tums?"
Not seeing any Tums, i told him he had GasX, so he took one, then gave himself a sniff test. He must not have been satisfied because he headed back to the bathroom.
"If I leave now, there shouldn't be any traffic," he said as he came out and i noted he was right, and he wouldn't have to speed to get there, either. He's a boy, he loves to go fast.
When he was ready, i opened the door for him since his hands were full.
This is why his parents put the garbage can here, right next to the wall of the house. The recycle bin is between his car and the side column. Did i mention he likes to drive fast? Especially when he is pulling into the driveway after work.
He came back in one more time, as always, asked me if i know where to donate school supplies, and when i told him i did, he grabbed the bag of school supplies and took them with him.
Carl has no sense of organization or executive function, but if you doubt his intelligence,
don't. He's sharp enough to be part of this Bible study, but just doesn't know quite how to use it in a practical sense.
How about some funnies.
Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!
