Lights, Doors, Action, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

This is the week Carl goes in at 9am, so i knew he'd either be sleeping or going back to sleep when i arrived.

He was in his sleep chair already, and had the washer full of wet clothes.  He'd used an actual wash cycle, which was good, and when i sniffed them, they hadn't been in there long enough to sour.  He'd probably done them late the night before, one of the advantages of being a night owl.

Carl came in while i was both sorting the rest of the clothes and finding the dirty ones he had hung up.  I asked if he was up for the morning or for brushing teeth and he said, "Teeth," and proceeded to brush while mumbling about cars or carts or cards, i could never make out quite what he was saying.

The rest of his nap lasted only about 20 minutes, giving me time to find the last pair of clean socks (in the dirty clothes bin, of course, folded the way i do them so i knew they were clean) and get his clothes into the bathroom ready for his shower.

I also sorted the rest of his clothes and am glad i check pockets no matter what now, as his watch wouldn't have stood the test of time spent in a washing machine.

Once he was up and ready to shower, he didn't like my choice of some light khaki pants and had to get heavier ones, why i don't know, but later, after he'd wiped hand lotion all over them, he changed again and found shorts.  The ways of Carl are always mysterious.

"Is my phone charged?" he asked when he came out of the shower.  It wasn't, although it had been plugged in all night, it was not charging.  I tried one of my charge cords, which worked with my phone but not his and his is supposed to use the same type.

I told Mr. L and he found a cord that worked, thankfully, as Carl has to have the phone set to the store's app in order to sign in for work.

While getting ice packs for his vest, i noticed and pointed out to Carl he'd once again left the freezer not quite shut.  He puts things on top of the fridge, and an edge of whatever it is hangs down and keeps the top freezer door from fully sealing.  His ice packs were okay this time, but we keep trying to stress the top of the fridge is not a storage compartment.

Speaking of doors, and lights, the whole time we were getting him ready and i was cleaning he would turn lights off, i'd turn them back on.  He'd open doors, i'd close them.  It's like a dance, and we've both become pretty good at the steps.

Yesterday's conversations were about things i really didn't understand much as he kept mumbling.  Elemental battles and Japanese characters, volunteer projects and foundations, and something about news with AI and bad algorithms.  Then he started talking about a church denomination, i did not catch which one, that might be becoming "particularly radicalized."  I just let him talk, and tried to nod in all the right places as i made his lunch and cleaned.

The one thing which puzzled me was a DoorDash bag, the insulated kind they use for delivery, by the back door.  I know good and well there's no way in the world Carl's parents would ever let him do delivery driving.

I asked him about it and he said, "We had Papa John's delivered for the party Saturday."  That is probably where he played the games with Japanese characters, but it still didn't explain why he had a delivery bag in the house.  I asked again why the bag was there and he said, "I don't know..." and wandered off.

Which DoorDash delivery driver had to get a new insulated bag is a mystery we will probably never solve.

How about some funnies.

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

  2. Great funnies, love the dog with the shadow of Snoopy on the other side of the sheet. Carl will be a source of entertainment as long as he is around. It is amazing how he goes through life, stress free, but stressing out those around him.

  3. You seem to have the patience of a saint with Carl! And I love the funnies, particularly the Australia/Austria desk. We once watched some folks on the tarmac at the Boston Airport about to board a Cape Air flight to Augusta (Maine), all wearing shorts and confused about the freezing weather... they had meant to book a flight to Augusta Georgia.
