Tears for Lulu (Six Sentence Story)

Last night Grandpa told me their dog Lulu has gone to the Rainbow Bridge, and we are all going to miss her and shed more than one tear for the sweet, crazy dog.

Lulu was about two years old when she was picked up off the streets by animal control where she was surviving by playing with some local children who would bring her food.

They knew she'd had pups at one time, but beyond that, her history was a blank.  We know she was terrified of storms and fireworks and would often need an Ativan if it was bad enough.

She'd been diagnosed with a fast-growing tumor which involved the liver and pancreas and was untreatable, so Grandma and Grandpa kept her comfortable and let her just be until she told them it was time.

Lulu spent the last 8 years of her life being pampered by Grandma, about whom Grandpa always says if he reincarnates he wants to be one of her spoiled pets, and i'd say that's not bad at all.
