The first and foremost thankful this week has to be for Grandpa, as it is his birthday. He is 89.
After i was done at the cat shelter last Friday, i was very thankful to see Red-headed Alec, and miracle of miracles, his ex brought Lee over to visit, too. It was Lee's 8th birthday and it was a treat to see him, last year the ex did not invite any of us to his party and i was not allowed to see him until almost Christmas.
Last Saturday went well, we were thankful to get down there and back in good time. Little Girl and Red-headed Alec were both at the house, she from two hours north of here, he from an hour-and-a-half west, i was so thankful they both got to come visit a bit.
Becca and her family were back in town so Sunday saw a very thankful Mr. Cal, the dog, get a walk and a visit with a doggy friend. I'm thankful having Becca finish the fruit from her breakfast in the car now as a car snack means we are on time for church.
I was thankful my Sweetie was able to help #1 Son get his car to the shop Monday morning, and that's where the latest round of musical cars starts.
#1 Son had nowhere to go Monday until evening, so he was at the house when they told him his car wouldn't be ready until Tuesday, which he knew was a possibility. I'm thankful he was able to use my car for his evening engagement and then spend the night, and use my car Tuesday while i took care of our little Annie.
I'm always thankful for her, and she's doing much better at walking each day.
#1 Son's mechanic friend, for whom we are very thankful as he's the one who told son there was a major problem with his car just by listening to him crank it and whose shop has a great reputation, was unable to complete the repairs Tuesday as he had to spend it in the hospital with his brother, who is gravely ill.
On Wednesday, we're thankful #1 Son drove my Sweetie to work and The Big Boss drove him home, and again, we were able to make two cars work out between the three of us since i have three jobs on Wednesday plus Bible study.
Then Thursday came the news Honda sent the wrong part to the shop! #1 Son called me at work to tell me and i had to laugh as this is the kind of stuff which happens to us all of the time, and now the timeline on the car is whenever they get the part and get it done.
I'm thankful we have a plan in place to continue to let our son stay here and we three will share two cars, plus we got a rental for my Saturday trek to NOLA. We even have Sunday morning covered, as my Sweetie is back from church by 10:30 and #1 Son doesn't have work until 11, and it's only a ten minute drive from here.
We're all thankful none of us have missed any work or appointments in all this juggling, and my clients are thankful, too, as they all want the house cleaned before our Thanksgiving holiday next week.
My last thankful is also the cat shelter went very well Friday evening, we had a new volunteer and two extra helpers.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
