But It's a Holiday, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

***********************************

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming for an announcement.

Grandma got very sick with a bad cold and wanted me to get to NOLA ASAP to help her.  I am here doing just that.  I will try to catch up on blog reading later, if you only see posts but don't get visits back for a couple of days, I'm just a bit busy, because I still have to drive back to my area most days for at least 2-3 hours of work, and then back down here.

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

Everything was dark and Carl was snoozing in the nap chair when i arrived.  I checked his schedule on the fridge and it said he had work at 11am, so i tucked in, got a few things going, then ran to Ms. G's place to take care of the cats.

When i got back, Carl was getting his morning meds and i handed him his special cup so he could get them down, otherwise he will just grab a new cup every time he comes in the kitchen for a sip.

I asked what he wanted me to pack for his lunch, and he said, "I don't have work."

I showed him the schedule, then he showed me the calendar on the wall, which had him off.  Then we went and got his phone, and sure enough, he did not have work yesterday.

Oh, so you are working tomorrow? i asked.

"Yeah, why?"

Don't you usually ask for the holiday off? i said.  We've had this discussion before, he thinks if it's a holiday, he should have the day off, even if the Mall-Mart is open and his friends are working.  After all, it's a holiday!

"Uh, but...isn't today?" he looked confused.

Veteran's Day is tomorrow, i told him.

"Oh, shoot!  I got the wrong day off!"

He went to his bedroom to brush his teeth, then went back to the sleep chair.

Carl ping-ponged back and forth through most of the morning, teeth, restroom, and, after one particularly long time in the restroom, "I need the air freshener spray!"

A little while later, he grinned and told me, "I'm going to need the air freshener again!"

He talked a bit about his weekend, trouble getting together with one friend, time playing games with another, and apparently an excellent sermon on Sunday, shame i couldn't quite follow what he was telling me this time.

While i was cleaning was also when Grandma texted and asked me to come help.  When i finished with Carl's, i drove to the phone place and found out more about the repairs, they are still trying to see if they can salvage anything at all from my phone, it's a mess, and having to rebuild all my contacts and lose all my notes and photos would not be pleasant.

I tore home, got my Sweetie to run the food for the ladies' meeting that night which i'd be missing up to one of the ladies at the church to take with her that evening to said meeting while i went to see Ms. D.

Ms. D has been having her own plumbing adventure, and not in a happy way.   They promised to come back Monday and finish, but it got bumped to Tuesday for the digging up of part of the sewer line to clear it, and meanwhile i tackled what i could and her floors got cleaned well.

Then i packed and came down here to NOLA, and the plan for Tuesday morning is to get back to our area, take care of Annie because both of her parents have Very Important Meetings They Cannot Miss, then come back down here if Grandma still needs me, and do the same Wednesday so i can take care of Ms. G's cats, since she's in Orlando and no one else can get into her house to do it.

Are we busy yet?

How about some funnies.

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!
