Something Worth Doing (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, and Brian’s Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

There are days when i work for Ms. G when we stand in a small room sorting things, or even a bigger room sorting things, and i get sleepy enough to nod off with simply being bored as she works very slowly.

Then there are days like yesterday, where there is something bigger than both of us worth doing.

Because there are neighborhood feral cats where she lives and several people put out feeding stations for them, they are all fixed, ear tipped, and given a rabies vaccine, others who want to get rid of their cats simply dump cats in the neighborhood figuring "someone" will care for the animals.

One such poor guy was chased up a tree by a neighborhood bully cat (yes, some owned cats are allowed to roam as well, not good for them but it can't be stopped) and was high enough up there he needed a rescue, but Mr. Rudy the rescue guy could not get his equipment into the tree because a smaller tree grew right next to it and interfered with every shot to get his ropes up there.

Thus Ms. G and i spent yesterday removing a very large crepe myrtle which should never have been allowed to grow right in the roots of a water oak, cutting it into pieces and dragging it to piles where it will be picked up by trash collection people in a few days, and in between doing that, we took a break for Ms. G to go get the wheelchair from storage to lend it to someone while i went to deliver snacks to Ms. Fiona, who has been craving banana flavored Moon Pies.

Once the crepe myrtle was down, Mr. Rudy came, got the cat, and Ms. G took charge of it, it will get neutered today and since it is friendly, will go up for adoption to a good home, much better than the one it came from.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

Angel Brian's Family of Brian's Home - Forever hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful Mr. Rudy was able to rescue the cat, who is friendly, and he goes in for a neuter today and to be placed up for adoption.  Also, Ms. Fiona has her Moon Pies.

  2. How wonderful the Wildcats are so well taken care of there. But what a lot of work to cut down that crepe myrtle. And I do have to tell you that I absolutely love your fence picture because it's covered in red cardinal Vine. I grow that here in the summertime on my porch and the hummingbirds simply love it.

  4. We just don't understand how anyone can just "throw a pet away". What is wrong with people? They are living creatures and just because they are an animal, doesn't mean they can survive on their own. Most cats and dogs are domesticated. So sad.
