The Good Side, Two Days' Worth (Ten Things of Thankful)

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

This week, like most, has had its ups and downs.

Mostly up, because i like to practice seeing the good side.  There's always lots of good side.

Thursday is an example.  Little Girl and #2 Son hosted a very nice Independence Day party.  It makes me thankful several ways because first, i didn't have to buy the goodies, and second, i didn't have to cook, and third, i didn't have to clean up.  All i had to do was watch them have fun with a couple of friends and a home-made slip'n'slide.

That was also a good day because the office we clean every other Thursday was closed so we are thankful we only had to clean one house.  Ms. SE didn't have too much laundry for me to fold, either, another thankful thing.

Friday provided ample opportunities to be thankful.  Brother-in-Law let us pick him up early so i could get to Bible study on time.

The study was at someone's home, and i'm always thankful when someone opens their home to us.

Ms. J asked us to clean her outdoor kitchen/patio, and because it was so hot, she paid us extra, so i am thankful it worked out that way.

We finished Ms. GA's house early enough that Sweetie and i got to stop at Trader Joe's.  He's been wanting some of their chopped garlic, and we got it for him.

The shelter was a delight, as usual, although Gandolf (one of the cats in intake, and yes, they spelled it wrong) needs to adjust his attitude.  He's almost as cranky as Hibiscus used to be.  (Hibiscus, by the way, is doing well in her home, she has mellowed a lot.)

Please join us and our gracious and wonderful hostess Kristi from ThankfulMe, write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful.

How nice that Mrs. J paid you a little extra for cleaning her outside patio on such a hot day. Working in the heat can be so exhausting!
How great that you were able to have a relaxing (for you) Independence Day party.
Hope you have a great week.

  2. Love your attitude. And hooray for people who recognise that working in extreme heat is hard, and pay for the privilege.

  10. As we are now the patriarch and matriarch of my husbands families, we are pretty much freed from all the prep and clean-up. Our now grown nieces and nephews get to do that.

Lots of things to be grateful about. We are blessed.
