She Wants Me to Stick Around (Cajun Joke) and Sunday Selections

***********************************

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Grandma has decided she likes the lemon water at the store better than the lime, so she wants us to pick up a few bottles every time we go.  Please note that she has about a month’s supply of them already.

Yesterday, we bought the last four bottles in the store.  When Grandpa told her that, she said, “Yes, someone keeps going in and buying all of them, the shelves are always empty!”

No, i did not say anything, i knew better, and so did Grandpa.

Boudreaux an’ Clothile done had dem de argue, and Tee be worry.  Like ever’ chile dese days, he worry hims parents goin’ get a divorce.

So he ax, “You not goin’ be gettin’ a divorce, is you, Père?”

An’ Boudreaux say, “Non, you don’ gots to worry ‘bout dat.  You Mère be a bit mad wit’ me, but she still love me an’ want me to stick aroun’ fo’ de long time.”

An’ Tee ax, “How you know dat, Père?”

An’ Boudreaux say, “Mais, she done bought me de big shampoo at de Bulk Store!”

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It is now hosted by Elephant's Child.

A bit of a mixed bag today.  First, Ms. G grows very pretty caladiums:

Mr. BA has a good touch with orchids, and other plants:

Yesterday, i went for a walk to get photos.  We still have signs of the damage from the storm a few weeks ago.

Some of the trees dropped limbs, but not quite all of the way:

The neighbors lost one tree:

The other they trimmed to make sure they don’t get house damage next time:

Right now the school board has more important tasks on its list than restoring the skirting around these buildings:

The old swing under the trees is leaning worse than ever, but still holding up:

Here’s a great idea to keep you from backing into the hedge:

The gentleman who used to live here was a WWII vet.  He would sit outside and the neighborhood children would visit.  He loved to sit here and tell stories:

A tyke parked the trike for another day:

  3. Love shown in many ways, e.g. in a bottle of shampoo. Beautiful caladiums and flowers. Storms can be scary and damaging.

  4. I love the statue of St Francis of Assisi. Thankfully you're OK from the storm damage. I would have thought a better way of avoiding reversing the car into the hedge would be to remove the hedge!

    God bless.

  9. Yeah, I've got several trees with widow-makers dangling in them. Fortunately, none in any place likely to actually get anyone but still... they're on the never-ending list.
