Don't let the fact that he's asleep fool you, this kitten is named Tsunami for a reason:

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey is on a blog break, we mourn with her over the loss of her husband.   Charlotte/Mother Owl always participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in some days, too.  Spike's Best Mate often leaves a wonderful poem in the comments on one of our blogs.

This week the theme is My Favorite Car.

We've had cars of all shapes and sizes,

Makes and models galore,

No need to give each detail,

That would be a bore.

It's hard to pick one favorite,

But the best i have to say,

Has a really good engine,

Makes four tires all go the same way!

A radio is a bonus,

Listening is a pleasure,

And if it has good A/C,

Well that makes it a treasure.

The best is not always the one

Has features by the tons

When it comes right down to it,

My favorite car just runs!

(When anyone asks what i want in a car, i always say the same thing, an engine that makes all four wheels go the same direction at the same time, a radio, and an air conditioner, and i'm willing to negotiate the last two!)

  1. Tsunami says you are maligning him and he is good as gold.
And yes, a car just has to run (reliably). Air conditioning/heating are bonuses.

  2. Nice poem about cars. I'd add heating as a feature, I would not do without - freezing window panes are not good for driving ;) But the ability to bring you there AND back again ... yes with all my heart. Well written. And that kitten looks nice :)

  7. Darling cat that obviously when awake is a rambunctious kitty! And your take on cars with a poem is exactly what I treasure in a car- it goes and it gets me there safely! Have great day!

  8. It looks as if we are cut from the same cloth, Mimi - I just go for reliability and economy in a car. I love the idea of Irish Coffee Day - I think I have all the ingredients ....

  9. The kitty is a whirlwind. I can just tell by the name. Adorable.

Love your take on a car. That was me for so many years. Still is, but not working makes things a bit different.

  11. So even Tsunamis are cute when they're asleep?! ;)
Perfect description of a car! I remember one of the kids in my class doing an oral report on 'cars' way back when. They described, first the necessaries: wheels, engine, steering mechanism--then the options: windscreen, doors, windows. When they mentioned windscreen, all I could think of was 'no bugs in the teeth'!

  14. Tsunami looks so innocent. Great spark and story. I am the same with a car, nothing fancy needed, but a radio is a necessity. :)
