A Lovely Thought (Wordless Wednesday) and Words for Wednesday

 ***********************************

Linking up with Wordless Wednesday, BeThere2Day, and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided by Lissa

This week's prompts are numbers:

1 - seventeen (17)

2 - seven (7)

3 - six (6)

4 - ten (10)

5 - nine (9)

6 - thirteen (13)

7 - twenty-five (25)

Charlotte/Mother Owl has chosen a color of the month and i am trying to also incorporate it into my WfW posts.  This month's color is signal white.

"What are we going to do with nine ten-year-old girls in the house for thirteen hours?" he asked, staring at her with a deer-in-the-headlights look.

"Mostly that will be my problem," she reassured him calmly.

"The girls will be arriving for the sleepover at around six, we'll have the pizza and snacks ready to serve when they arrive.  By between 7-7:30, we'll all sing 'Happy Birthday' and she can open her presents.  Once that part is over, you men in the family may retire to your workshop or your den, whatever you want, taking as many snacks and drinks with you as you like."

"What about sleep?" he asked, then added a bit sarcastically, "the whole twenty-five minutes of it we'll probably get."

"There are two beds in our son's bedroom, so you can sleep in our room, and possibly be waked up if the girls need me for something, or you can bunk with him."

"I hate sleeping on those beds, they're a little short."

She looked at him rather sharply and he added, "But that sounds like a good plan.  If we behave, can we not have to do this again until she's 17?"

"No promises on that front, but if you both behave, for his birthday in a couple of months we'll get you those tickets to the game you want to go see, you can even book a hotel and make a weekend of it."

"Okay, okay, I'm waving my white flag!" he laughed, pretending to wave a flag over his head.
