A Job For Life (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week, and Poetry Monday

 ***********************************

Happy New Year, everyone.  I pray you have a blessed and beautiful 2024.

***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

Abby was sitting and waiting for me.

She promptly rolled over, begging for a tummy rub.

I didn't resist, and if you give a dog a tummy rub, you have a job for life!

***********************************

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week.  While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border.

Today is her final poetry Monday for a while as she is taking a blog break (we hope not for long).

She has said Charlotte / Mother Owl and i may keep Poetry Monday going, and as always anyone else is more than welcome to join in and suggest topics.

Charlotte has chosen the topics/themes for January:

8th Winner

15th Requirement

22nd Teacher

29th Flight

By the middle of this month, i hope to have February topics/themes posted.  If anyone has any in mind, and wants to join the fun, let us know!

This week the topic is The Future.

*******

Jeanne Louise Calment

122 years old was turning,

everyone wanted to talk to her

with questions that were burning.

She gave a couple of interviews

and about it was a good sport,

when asked how she saw her future,

her succinct reply was, "Short!"

*******

The future is now

taking each day as it comes

today's all we have

*******

I procrastinate too much,

it's always to my sorrow,

and i am going to work on it,

as soon as i'm up tomorrow.

*******

The future is a mystery

but let's go through the door

and work and pray and trust and hope

it's a good 2024.

  12. Happy New Year! Oh, do I remember belly rub sessions with my various pooches. Yes, full time job does not BEGIN to cover it! I recall an actual elder 100+ they asked her how she lived so long. She shrugged and said, whiskey and cigarettes... I say nothing about relating to the procrastinating one!
