Mimi missed the Bartender.
Of course, she missed all her friends when they were absent, but this was different and she couldn't put her finger on why.
What the Gatekeeper was saying about her whereabouts just seemed...off, as did he, he was worried and she knew it.
She did what she always did in these cases, prayed, scrubbed, tidied, cooked and read.
There was one other thing that cheered her, too, she considered it her ace in the hole.
Pulling out Hunga's lead, they headed for their nearby sanctuary for a while; happiness is a warm puppy.
