Cold And Good, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

 ***********************************

It's a cold Thankful Day in the swamps.  There's my first thankful, although i am not a huge fan of the cold -- it's not A/C weather yet!

In fact, there's another thankful, friends with a sense of humor who send you funny stuff.

I would recommend adding Late Summer between False Fall and Actual Fall.  There's always a heat wave in there somewhere between them.

Last Saturday, Grandma really, really wanted a baked potato for lunch from one of her favorite restaurants.  They have a problem with their website, sometimes potatoes aren't available to be ordered, even when they have it available.

Usually a quick call resolves it and gets them up on the website, but not last Saturday.  To get her potato, I had to go to the restaurant to place the order.

It took a long time out of my cleaning time, so while i am thankful she got what she wanted, i'm also thankful this doesn't happen often.

Becca has been having a bit of a rough time lately with her medication adjustment and seemed a bit upset Sunday, for a little while.  I'm thankful it was easily resolved with a change of scenery.

Ms. D had called to say she would be at a hair appointment on Monday when i am usually there, would i be willing to let myself in and do whatever list she left?  Of course, i was thankful and happy to do so.

While i wasn't able to visit her on Valentine's Day, Ms. JAI has been on my mind as i knew her children wouldn't have done anything for her.  I was thankful to finally get over there to clean and also to bring her the Valentine's Day flowers i picked up for her.

She enjoyed arranging them and i enjoyed watching her.

Also, the closet is fixed where she ran the car through the wall, we're thankful she can access all her clothes again and her daughter did come in town and help her get it all rehung.

Tuesday is when i usually make appointments and i had two this week.  Dr. BowTie is always worried about my sodium levels being low, so i went in and got a blood draw, it is low normal and he's happy.

The other was for a second opinion on my eye, which reassured me while it's not been easy, the surgery was successful and eventually my vision should finish clearing up.

After the appointments is the best time of a Tuesday, babysitting!

I'm always thankful to spend time with my little Annie.

After traipsing around in the yard at Ms. G's on Wednesday, in my boots, coats, hat, gloves and etc., i was thankful to spend most of the day indoors with her doing the dusting.  Boring and tedious, but i was thankful to be able to listen as she told stories she probably needed to get out.

Also on Wednesday, the dash of my car went dark again, signaling it's time for a new battery.  This one is two years old and we've had an unusually rough winter, i'm thankful it didn't just quit, but chose to let me know it's going bad in time to not get stranded.

This was why, Thursday morning, we were first in line at Kevin and Lenny's, and they replaced the battery while my Sweetie and i cleaned Ms. SE's house.  I'm always thankful for their service.

I'm also thankful, this week, we managed to save the fish.  Sweetie was in the kitchen and managed to knock something over, breaking the fishbowl.  Scooping the poor betta fish into a cup and filling it with water, i texted Ms. SE to find out where the water conditioner was, which removes the chlorine from the water and makes it possible for the fish to survive in it long term.

He seems to have come through unscathed, thankfully.

We were also near where my phone was repaired, so we stopped in and ordered a new screen for my Sweetie's phone.  I'm thankful they will have it soon and install it while he waits, no need for him to be without his, unlike when mine went down for the count and had to stay in the tech hospital.

Friday was quite busy and we're thankful for extra volunteers at the shelter, and lots of people looking and adopting.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
