It’s Dim in Here, but It’s Where the Cookies Are (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week, and Poetry Monday

***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

It's hard to see the photos because Grandpa always keeps only one little lamp on in his room, but this is where Jack dog comes every time he wants a "cookie" (dog biscuit).  He comes as often as Uncle J will let him and is never disappointed.

Oh, goody, he's getting it!

Crunch, crunch, crunch!

Gotta get every crumb!

Grandpa always says, "Jack, you know who loves you!"

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week.  While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Our dear friend Diane is taking a break

accommodations we must make

we miss her poetry and wit

so carry on as Poetry Monday's a hit!

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border Charlotte/Mother Owl and i are keeping it going while she takes a blog break, we hope temporarily.  Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let us know!

This week the theme is Dismembered.

I bought me a gym membership

when the doc said I was being flip

after he said I wasn't in shape

and I said, "I'm round, get a measuring tape!"

Anyway, I went and I thought they were crackers

when the first thing I lost was $400 smackers

'cause that's what it costs to there belong,

now my wallet's empty, I'm singing a blues song.

Next it was, "You need gym shoes!"

They just don't like what I choose,

in the pool, they won't allow flippers

and around the weights, no bedroom slippers.

Well, I grunted and yelled whenever it hurt

and they didn't like my torn t-shirt,

they loathed my singing in the shower stall

and were worried each time from the treadmill I'd fall.

Now I'm booted out, they don't want me back,

and from exercise I will suffer the lack,

and in my mind it will never be unremembered

from the gym, I've been dismembered!

Future themes are:

November 10 Dismembered(Today!)

November 17 In a Cave

November 24 Pot of Tea for Two

December 1 Mole's Eye View

December 8 Peace

(All themes are from the 365 Days of Drawing Prompts and Other Arts Facebook group.)

  1. So nice to see that Jack's getting along by himself in a one dog house now. I can see that he's not at all spoiled, lol.

  2. We dogs know where the treats are, who is the keeper of them, and how to get some from the keeper. Great team quotes.

  3. Great use of "dismembered!" I'm surprised I haven't been dismembered yet from my Spanish gym, I dance like a psycho on the elliptical when my tunes are good. But fortunately my Spanish is so bad that even if they'd asked me to leave, I woudln't have understood it.
