As always, a lot happens in a week around here.
I'm thankful i understand basic plumbing, first and foremost, as one of the toilets in Grandma and Grandpa's house wouldn't quit running. It's nice to be able to figure it out (the chain) and solve the problem without having to call in a professional.
Catching rides in with #2 Son is a blessing and i'm thankful he plans to tend his NOLA store on Saturdays.
Becca and i were thankful for a good walk with Mr. Cal and that the church services are back to their usual after the holidays.
I'm thankful for fun times with our little Annie.
She has gotten quick and can really throw me sometimes. Annie was pressing the buttons on the heater in their room, and i was turning it off but it wasn't working, so i turned around and she'd grabbed the remote! She was trying to turn it back on as fast as i could get it off! I'm thankful she handed it over, though, and i found a place to put it she couldn't reach.
She loves to run outside, i was thankful to be able to take her out a few times this week, when it wasn't raining.
Annie is also talking more and more, and i'm thankful i am understanding more and more of what she's trying to say. "Banba" is bread and butter, and it's a favorite word.
I'm very thankful Carl's room isn't usually as much of a challenge as it was this past week.
Ms. D's daughter was in town, so while it's not easy to skip work (no work, no pay in my business), it was a delight to visit with the two of them. I'm thankful Ms. D's children care for her and make sure all is well.
We're also thankful Ms. D now has a new plumber and everything is finally fixed, no more plumbing emergencies and flooding toilets/showers there.
Speaking of which, Mr. BA and Ms. GA had a plumbing emergency, too, and we're thankful they were able to clear out the clog.
I was thankful to get errands run both Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning before the ladies' circle meeting. One Monday errand was especially helpful as it looks like i won't need a part for something i thought i needed.
Circle went well, i'm always thankful when it goes over well when i'm the teacher/discussion facilitator.
After missing some pay on Monday, i was a bit disappointed when Ms. G indicated she might not need me Wednesday. It was a very thankful moment when she decided i could come after all. She and i were thankful to accomplish a few things before she had to leave, and i was thankful to get the rest done once she was gone.
When my Sweetie and Brother-in-Law were growing up in a small town in central Louisiana, they had many good friends and they've stayed in touch with several over the years. One of the oldest, who was 97, passed away this week. I'm thankful the funeral is on Saturday so we could make plans and Brother-in-Law is off work and they can go, as well as thankful our emergency fund will cover gas and a couple of meals on the road for a one day trip.
The shelter Friday night was the busiest i've seen it in a long time, 3 adoptions and a ton of people coming in to look, many of them planning to come back again and look more. We are all thankful when the joint is jumping.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
