A Great Time Was Had By All! (Ten Things of Thankful)

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

***********************************

rEcess again!  And this time it got wilder and crazier than last time, in a good way.

We are thankful we had a wonderful friend who brought food.  Unfortunately, she didn’t quite bring enough for our big appetites.

Pizza delivery to the rescue!  We are thankful the pizza place isn’t far.

One of the things she did bring was fried corn-on-the-cob.  If you ever try it, you will know why the volunteers are always thankful for that.

There were 8 special needs kids this time, we are so thankful the program is growing.

About 25 volunteers showed up, we are very thankful the volunteer base is keeping up with the growth in number of families served.

There was a new young man, and i am thankful we had one person assigned to run after this very active one:

He made himself right at home, which is what we want.

Ms. W showed up to do crafts — that meant glitter!

The gym was completely clear this time, so the running and playing was tremendous.

Cupcakes!

Our special police officer was assigned for guard duty, and she came down a couple of times and joined the fun.

This program is so dear to our hearts, we get to serve families of special needs kids, and we get as much if not more out of it than they do.

Please join us and our gracious and wonderful hostess Kristi from ThankfulMe, write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful.

  4. Mimi,

I don't think I've tried fried corn on the cob, either. I did have roasted corn on the cob once. I prefer to just boil it since it's more tender prepared that way.

Pizza delivery to the rescue is a reason to be thankful. lol It sounds like this program is really booming and am glad there are plenty involved in it.

I'm very thankful for DD#2 not being injured in a car accident last week. She hit a small deer going 70mph. It totaled her car but she's ok. God kept His angels over her is all I can say! She was really bummed out because she lost her car but she might have a newer one soon. Sometimes there are blessings in disguise that even we don't understand everything fully. God is so good to us that we can't even fathom all of His goodness. :)

  8. (Sorry - had to regroup for a little HTML tweaking)
Columbus Day weekend is indeed an excellent time for chowder but as I only like one type anyhow, this one if you’re curious, I opted to avoid the traffic in Mystic and headed for my local seafood joint last night. A superb chowder... AND I got my fritter fix, too! :-)
