Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Delores and her friend Jenny are taking turns providing a theme for Poetry Monday, and i am trying my hand at participating.  This weeks theme is The Tool Shed.

A tool shed is a great idea
Or so it seems to me,
A place to put all of the things
Perched precariously
On top of the freezer
Or on the pantry shelves
The screwdriver i can never see
The moment that i need it
Making me reach for a kitchen knife
Because it so near me does sit
The hammer and the pliers
That threaten my big toe
Every time i reach for something else
And they from the shelf themselves throw
The ladder that gets wedged
Against the closet back
The putty and tape and doodads
And every nail and thumbtack
It could all go in the tool shed
But the thing that comes to mind
Is once out there, when i need them
None of them would i ever again find!

It is Memorial Day in the US, please stop for a moment and remember all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our freedom.  If you know of a family that lost someone, please let them know their loved one and the price s/he paid is not forgotten.

  4. Love those glorious curls :)
I've known many tool sheds that are just as you describe. Anything that goes in is never found again.
what is needed is extreme organisation, a place for everything and everything in its place.
