Ginger Boy (Awww Monday). Inspiring Quote of the Week, and Beauty (Poetry Monday)

***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

My foster son, Red-headed Alec, brought his son, Toddler Lee, to come visit.  You can easily tell this child is thoroughly his daddy made over:

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border.  She and Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey take turns providing a theme each week.  This week's theme is Beauty.

My favorite line about beauty
Came from an Anne of Green Gables book
To me it was on this subject
A really perfect outlook

Rebecca Dew said not every woman
Is as pretty as she wishes.
But, she adds, if we were all beautiful
Who would wash the dishes?

  1. Aww! He's cute!
But on that citation I dare to disagree. It almost made me throw the book through the window. As if beautiful people were in some way exempt from doing more mundane tasks. Everybody should at least be able to do their own dishes. Being beautiful is not an excuse for being lazy or letting other people do your work. Sorry, I'm fiercely individualistic that way.

  2. That is a spectacular head of hair.
Beauty and dishwashing have nothing to do with each other. Sadly our culture does excuse 'the beautiful people' from rather a lot of things and I wish it didn't. Perhaps because I am not one of those privileged and pampered souls.

  3. Gorgeous hair! And curly too. the only thing beauty and dishwashing have in common is clean dishes are more beautiful than dirty ones.

  13. Oh, my! Look at that gorgeous hair! Three of my children married redheads. And we only scooped two redheaded grandchildren from them. I told them all to keep trying! They're so disobedient...

  18. Mimi,

All that beautiful red hair! My first cousin had red hair like that as a kid. My uncle has reddish blonde hair as an adult which makes me wonder if his hair was as red as his son's once was now. I know my cousin's youngest two children had red hair like him, too. And, another first cousin had auburn color hair. I have only tiny hint of red in mine. I secretly wished I had red hair when I was younger. :)

  19. That's a huge Awwww! We often forget boys/men can be *gingers* as well as girls/women. Your poem made me pause and think Rebecca may not be very pretty on the inside! :-)
