High (Six Sentence Story), Iron (Good Fences), Risks of the Job (Sammy's Poetry Day), and Brian's Thankful Thursday

***********************************

On a scale of one to ten, she was clocking in at between eight and nine.

She had even cancelled and rescheduled her second appointment, something she didn't want to do.

At first she said she'd be fine with just lying on the couch for a nap with an ice pack.  Her husband told her she'd have to do more than that, and pushed the issue, so she did.

A couple of hours later, their daughter called and asked, "How's mom doing after her dental appointments?"

Her father caught her by surprise and made her laugh when he replied, "The pain level was too high for her to go to the dentist appointment for the fitting, but now that she's on a high from the oral surgeon's magic pain pills, she's doing just fine!

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Scale.

Gosia at Looking for Identity has taken over Good Fences, and it's now Good Fences Around The World.  Post a picture of a fence or gate, link back to her blog, and go visit other blogs to see what interesting fences there are out in this big world.

This iron fence has a nice pattern:

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:

I love my shop,
But I'm ill at ease,
Though I'm happy selling flowers,
They make me sneeze!

Today i am thankful that Mr. KW insisted that his wife, Ms. RW, take the pain pills i mentioned in the story above.  Dental pain is no joke, and she was hurting!

Dental pain is one of the worse. I feel for people with hayfever too - I had a course of desensitising injections years ago which game me my life back.

Have a wonderful Thankful Thursday!

I agree with commentor #1 there is something about dental pain (and ache)... from my experience, it's the relentlessness of a bad tooth ache that is hardest to take,
But then, this is only fiction
...right?
lol

"Her father caught her by surprise and made her laugh when he replied," sounds like real life. Lucky gal. Good memory. Also, Johnny Appleseed was a really big deal where I grew UP. I played him is a school production in the second grade. Word is I was awesome! But, probably not.

I like so much what you write. I hope the tooth ache story is pure fiction, but fear it is not Ouch.

In your long list of celebrations today, I have to correct an error on behalf of my magic alter ego, Susan: Haustmanuour has to be Haustmánuður with á and ð - if you cant manage the Icelandic ð a normal d is totally OK :)

People easily take offence these days. They should paint them instead. Especially metal ones before they rust.

God bless.
