Neighbor's Fun Tree Sign (Wordless Wednesday) and Words for Wednesday

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts that encourages us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, Delores is providing the prompts.  This may be the end of an era, as she has had so much trouble with a troll that she is planning to shut down her blog after she provides the prompts this month.  She will be missed.

This week’s words are:

caps, fishing, storm clouds, willow, racing and ripples...and/or
blasted, scurrying, basket, intense, success and model T

How is it,  he wondered, that every time I plan to go FISHING, the STORM CLOUDS gather and the gentle RIPPLES of of the stream are BLASTED by the wind into white CAPS on the water?

SCURRYING out from under the WILLOW tree which he'd tried to use for shelter and that was now being whipped into a frenzy, he grabbed the gear and his small picnic BASKET and tried RACING to his car between some of the more INTENSE bouts of rain.

SUCCESS! he grinned, as he dived into his antique MODEL T, the one his father and grandfather had both owned.  He was only slightly damp, and his small but for him plentiful lunch remained intact.  The afternoon of relaxing by the water waiting for a nibble might be ruined, but that didn't mean he couldn't sit and enjoy his small feast, then go home for a rainy afternoon nap instead.
