Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border She and Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey take turns providing a theme each week.   Mother Owl and Merry Mae almost always participate, too.  This week’s theme is New Year’s Resolutions.

If you want to know
What i think of this week’s theme,
Ask if i make them.

The answer is no,
Not any longer.   They just
don’t work out for me.

If you want to change
And resolutions help you,
By all means, use them.

Let me, however
Meander in my own way
And changes will come.

  1. The sleeping kitteh is a cutie, and that quote a beauty.
I really like (and agree wholeheartedly) with your poem too.

  2. Yes to the poem. I always found 'meandering' to be such an unwieldy word, edgy and hard to think of ... like my tries at drawing its grafical counterpart as a young child. But you and your blog has taught me to associate meandering with ambling, rambling, strolling, enjoying and suchlike.
So now I can wish for all of us a meandering, happy new year.

  3. Aww! how very cute sleeping there in the cat hammock heheh!

I liked the quote and enjoyed the poem even more :-)

  4. Why does or why should a New Year force us to do things differently than the day before? It really won't. Nothing inspires me less than telling me I have to do something OR ELSE.
So MM will meander with MM and all will be well. :)

  5. The poem is great. And that little kitten is just way too cute. You all have a great day

  6. That kitten is adorable but looks like it needs a home to snuggle into. No resolutions for us, why bother. We have our goals all the time and they work for us.

  8. Mimi,

I'd like to take a cat nap about now. I'm beat! This weekend was too busy for me. I like your little poem. I'd rather meander around with change eventually catching up to me. :) Unfortunately, I find that I have to force myself to do something different if I want to see the results I want. Meander often brings more problems in my life that needs fixing. :D

  17. Aww, that kitten! There is nothing sweeter than a kitten, unless maybe it's a puppy . . . or any other baby animal :)

I like the idea of meandering to find change, and I agree fully!
