Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

Abigail, Mr. BA and Ms. GA's cat, snuggled while we clean around her:

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border.  She and Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey take turns providing a theme each week.   Charlotte/Mother Owl almost always participates, too.  This week the theme is Money.

Why do we work so hard?
Money.
Why mow my own yard?
Money.
How to buy the food we need?
For what do your children plead?
How to pay bills as agreed?
Money.

Of what is there ne'er enough?
Money.
If we have to pay for stuff --
Money.
Pinching pennies, hold on tight!
To charity give, as is right!
Yet what keeps us up at night?
Money.

What tries to run the show?
Money.
Tries to enslave and keep us low?
Money.
It tries so hard to cause you strife,
Tear apart a husband, wife,
But don't give it your whole life!
Money.

    1. The news about that poor dead whale is heartbreaking. And a damning indictment of us.

  3. Mimi,

Cute kitties! Excellent Sparks quote! In the madness I'm reading about but have yet to see first hand, mostly because I haven't been out lately, once the crisis is over people will push this all to the back of their minds. It's not easy for most folks to stock pile anything due to space and financial resources but it pays to keep a decent amount of everything on hand if you can to make life easier for oneself regardless of what's going on in the world. Your poem is spot on! Money is essential to us all but it's the source of much of our woes, too. Have a blessed day, my friend!
