It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

It's time to celebrate some wild, wacky and wonderful things that happen.

Like trying to find all of Carl's pillows so i can wash the pillow cases.  The last one was finally located here:

In the back of the car.  No, there's no knowing why.

Carl was digging in his freezer before work yesterday, commenting on how full it was, and how the door keeps popping open.  When i told him i would try to rearrange it so it would close more easily, he said, "Nah, just tape it!" and went to look for duct tape.

On top of the freezer, i found lots of candy, some of it not well sealed, and then this under it:

Yes, instead of putting the candy away or sealing it, he puts the ant bait up there.

He will do something like that, and then ten minutes later, it's like you are talking to a different person.  "This says you should wait and have your coffee at 9:30am," he told me.  When i asked what it was about, he said, "The article says your cortisol levels are highest between 8 and 9 in the morning, and cortisol has an effect on how caffeine is absorbed, so you should wait until the cortisol levels go down to get the most out of your coffee."

We had a conversation about studies, and how they are done, and i told him about peer review and that you have to find out who did the study, and who published it.  He said, "Okay, I'll ask my dad."  Dad, Mr. L, has a PhD in chemistry, so i'm sure he will ask, and i'm sorry i won't be there to hear it.

Yes, he will tape his freezer shut, move the ant bait instead of sealing up the candy, look up and talk rather intelligently about studies on caffeine, and then this:

He wore two pair of underwear at the same time one day, both inside out.  That's how i found them in the dirty clothes bin.

"Oh," he told me, "I'm wearing my Dad's shoes today."

When asked why, he responded with, "Because all of mine are worn out and don't fit right."  When asked why he didn't buy more of his own, i got a blank stare.  Then, "Well, Dad's fit!"

Here i thought only mothers had to worry about daughters borrowing their clothes.

On the way out the door, he said, "Where are the tweezers?"  Upon my asking why he needed them at the last minute on the way to work, he said, "To pick up the trash!"

Why do i have the feeling he really does pick up trash with tweezers, even when he's wearing gloves?

Next, to Ms. PA's house.  She will now be an every week client, as she suffered a compression fracture in her back while trying to take care of her husband, Mr. Jack.  It's an awful thing, but yet a good thing, because now she is accepting help.  Instead of just having me dust and vacuum (and i have evicted years worth of dust from some areas), i get to change the beds and clean the kitchen and bathroom.

Speaking of kitchens, this is her toaster:

Yes, with the old cloth cord, almost worn through.  Then, i opened it to clean it and this is what came out:

That is at least one whole slice of toast worth of crumbs and pieces, and heaven only knows how long it's been building up.  Scary.

Ms. S was not to be left out of the fun.  She had this on the table next to her bed:

When i took it in and said, okay, i give up, what's with the safety pin on a sock? she said, "Oh, I pin that to my bathrobe and use it to carry things in!"

Instant extra pocket.  Only she would think of that.

All right, how about some more fun stuff from Grandma:

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

  5. Lol! I think you are the best one to help clean up after Carl. I don't think I will know what to do with Carl and his weird ways. Oh dear, good thing you were able to look into the dangerous toaster and help to clean it out.

  13. I was watching the Texas Rangers game and no one mentioned Babe Ruth day. I guess everyone's day in the sun comes to an end sooner or later.
As a radioman, I learned Morse Code in the military. Never did use it, so don't ask me anything more complicated than SOS.
If you need me, I'll be at the table with all of the prime rib. Have a blessed day.

  16. Carl sounds like a hoot! I love that Corgi leading the ducklings. And speed limit 13 1/2. And especially the top gear clothes tested on animals! Btw, I think we go through Lafayette on our way to New Orleans, but I think we turn south on 90 and miss Baton Rouge. Not sure when we will go again, but DH has been wanting to. We drove through Baton Rouge on our way to Atlanta a few years ago. Had a great roast beef po-boy at a place that I can't remember the name of.

Sorry about Mrs. PA's injury, but so glad she asked for extra help. And that toaster! Crazy dangerous! But her sock/pocket? Genius!

LOVE all the funnies! I was literally laughing out loud and getting funny looks from my doggies. ;)
