The Joints Are Jumpin’ (Cajun Joke) and Sunday Selections

 ***********************************

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Grandma got on the topic of age while i was there yesterday.  At one point she said, "You aren't 60 yet!" and i answered i will be next month.  She gave me the side eye and said, "I'm not supposed to have a daughter that old!"

Boudreaux be 'bout to celebrate a birthday an' hims frien's be teasin' dat he growin' old.

"Soon you be goin' have trouble wit' you joints when you go to dancin', Boudreaux!" say Thibodeaux.

An' Boudreaux say, "Mais!  My joints be fine, but de joints I likes to dance in all done been raided by de police!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.

Vacation Bible School was this past week.  I really miss being able to participate (another reason to look forward to retiring).

  6. Yeah, Boudreaux, probably a good thing to stay out of those joints!
That Bible School looks amazing! What a fun idea!
Years ago, we did 'Night in Bethlehem' around Christmastime in our church. It was the most fun I've ever had! Of course, my family got into it in a big way. Husby and I ran the 'dreidel' gambling joint. Our eldest son and his wife, just expecting their first, were Joseph and Mary. Another son was a Roman Centurian conscripting all the young boys into the army. One daughter was helping out at the 'whinery' pouring grape juice, and our youngest two were lepers. It was quite an experience, especially for them. Some people gave freely. Some people chased them out with a broom!
