He's Charming, Not Alarming, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

 ***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

I got to Carl's yesterday morning and he was getting out of the shower saying, "I don't know what happened, I set my alarm..."

It was okay, he still had plenty of time.  After getting his apron on over his work clothes, he went for breakfast and i got started.

First order of business, now that it's hot out, is to find his ice vest and slip in the ice packs, put extra ice packs in his cooler, and get his snack ready.

While trying to find his cold vests, i found this

and this

but it should look like this

It's a dryer for shoes and gloves, and you're not supposed to use it without the holders in place, it overheats.  I went to tell him not to do that and ask where his ice vests are.

He listened as i tried to explain about the dryer, then said, "But it's faster!"

It can also melt your shoes and start a fire, i told him, now where is your vest?

"Well, it's here somewhere..."

That's all i got out of him the whole morning, every time we needed something, "It's here somewhere..."  While he was on the floor putting on his shoes, I suggested he look under the bed.  He looked, and saw one of his favorite candies, still in the wrapper, had fallen under there.  He pulled it out, held it up triumphantly with the grin of a child getting a treat, and promptly unwrapped and ate it.

Then dropped the wrapper on the floor.

Definitely something he needs to be trained out of, but he's such a big kid you can't scold.  Much.

He had clothes everywhere, and when i asked what was clean or dirty, he started picking up item by item and sniffing.  Not having time for that, i just told him not to worry, i'd wash everything.

Eventually, i found the ice vests and loaded two, one for yesterday and one to stuff back in the freezer for tomorrow, and even packed his snack.  He came running for the fridge on his way out the door, "I need a snack!"

You already put it in the car, i told him, because he had by that time.  He still grabbed an avocado out of the fridge, as if all the fruit, cheese, crackers, and snacks i'd packed weren't enough.

They probably aren't.

He had a pair of sunglasses out and ready and forgot them.  At least his mother has bought him new glasses again.

By the end of summer, he won't be able to find more than a few of these.

3 layers deep

While seeking his vests, i looked among the items in the boxes from his car.  He has everything in there from a rain coat to Easter eggs.  Why plastic eggs?  Because they were marked down after Easter, of course.

I found the back of a remote control.  It doesn't go with any of his remotes here.

At promptly 9:24am, his alarm went off.  As i hit the button, i decided to see what was up.  His late alarm at that time is for Sunday morning (his church doesn't have a service until 11am).  Since that was set, and the clock has two alarms, i wondered why the 5am one hadn't gone off.

It turns out, it won't go off at 5am if you have it set for 5pm.  Who knew?  Certainly not Carl, so i reset it.

How about some alarm clock funnies?

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

  3. Love the alarm clock cartoons. Thank goodness I am retired and don't actually have to turn mine on anymore. Unfortunately for me I still wake up at 5:00 in the morning just like I used to with or without help of cat.

  4. There are some interesting alarms there! As long as Mom remembers to turn the alarm on, there isn't usually a problem and 99.9% of the time she is awake before it goes off anyway.

  10. Never mind my parents (they had wind-up alarms you had to set nightly) I had a clock radio like that one...and wish I still had it. It was a good one - and you could set the two alarms to wake you to music on two different stations !

  11. It is funny that his mom buys so many sunglasses at a time. I do that with readers for my mom as she tends to lose hers or drop them and they break. :)

  15. You truly do have the patience of a saint!! Never a dull moment with Carl, that's for sure. And I had one of those dryers for my ski boots - scary he's using it without the extension pole thingies - you're so right, could melt his shoes or start a fire! LOVED all the alarm funnies - the dogs are really good about waking me up before the alarm (sometimes annoyingly so...heh!) :) And the cat that reigns the master bedroom gets a little miffed if I get up to use the bathroom in the wee hours of the morning (pun not intentionally intended, but appropriate), she thinks I'm getting up and relinquishing *her* spot back to her, but seems disappointed when I get back in bed. So much so, she'll race across me back and forth until I can't take it anymore...heh!!
