Ms. G is always a whirlwind with more on her plate than anyone can handle and can talk a blue streak.
Yesterday i arrived at her place while she was taking one of her clients to an appointment, which meant i was able to get down to business. The cats were tended, the outdoor critters got food and water (birds and squirrels), the diet drinks and water bottles in the fridge were replenished and i was almost halfway through with the vacuuming when she rolled in.
As per her usual she sat down at her computer to tend her business and while she was still occupied i managed to finish all the vacuuming.
Because she had another appointment in the afternoon, there really wasn't much more we could do and thus she decided to pay me for that day's work, plus the critter care from the week before when she was out of town.
While writing the check, she decided to tell me, in detail, about her week out of town, and she proceeded to keep me there for almost an hour after i'd finished working; as much as i enjoy talking to her and enjoy her company, she was going down so many rabbit trails and the story was getting so complicated, i was never so happy to hear her phone ring as i was then, because it meant she had to finally let me leave work!
Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Ring.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!
Ms. S and Mr. D had an old, falling down chain link fence which they kept because the neighbor was a good friend, Ms. S and Neighbor used to chat over it and share muffins or other goodies. Now the neighbor is deceased so they went ahead and replaced the fence.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
(Two poems today, one a haiku, the other loosely inspired by the song, "Up a Lazy River.")
Admire this man for
he must go and he uses
whatever he can
*******
Up a lazy river I gotta go,
up a lazy river, takin' it slow,
up this lazy river's where I need to be,
so I'll get there when I get there, lazily!

The art of gracefully ending a conversation has also been on my mind recently ;)
ReplyDeleteUp the lazy river indeed! Nice poems. I hope he gets there.
I fear it might be ME that is Now Ms G in the talking thing. I am so desperate for conversation I tend to talk without stopping and it gets out of control. You did good to listen to Ms G... I will try to remember your story to make me shut up when I get started... I can't even write a comment like this that is short. ha ha
ReplyDeleteVery pretty fence and that's one gigantic generator. The ones we have up here in our area or big enough to run refrigerators and furnace and turn on a few lights. But they're not that big. It is interesting how some people do get carried away with the story. Most of the time I do find that they are interesting.
ReplyDeleteThere are some people like that who don't seem to realize they are going on and on and the other person has different things to do and needs to get going.
ReplyDeleteDe vegades la gent pensa que no tens res més que fer, això sol passar amb les persones que viuen solas.
ReplyDeleteBons poemes i boniques tanques.
Petonets!
I like your lazy river poem, and I'm glad you were able to make an escape when the phone rang, lol!
