Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee, of Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

Some kittens just snooze, but some almost beg to come home with you:

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Delores and her friend Jenny are taking turns providing a theme for Poetry Monday, and i am trying my hand at participating.  This weeks theme is Hair.

Vanity

My Sweetie has a headful
Of thick and curly locks.
He keeps each one positioned
Like runners on starting blocks.

He fusses and he fumes
And makes quite a to-do,
Carries brushes with him,
In case the wind hairs blew.

Yes, he’s a musician,
And of his hair quite vain,
It’s quite an imposition if
On his coif it does rain.

He’s now in middle ages
When men’s hairs begin to fall,
And tho’ he’s not lost any yet,
The thought does cast a pall.

He'd never live it down
And he'd do whatever stalled
The loss, and he'd forever mourn
If he were to go bald.

  1. It's a fair bet that Sweetie will keep all his hair as he is already middle aged but hasn't yet lost any. Most male baldness begins earlier, I know a few who were going bald in their twenties.

  2. Uh, how I feel with Sweetie. Let's hope that he keeps his hair for quite a bit longer, at least until later age has taught him the worthlessness of vanity ;)

  4. Mimi,

The poem is so funny! I hope the hubby doesn't go bald, either. My DH always had a receeding hair line since his teen years. It's pushed back more since that time and he has small bald spot on the very top which I know bothers him sorta but for him to be any other way just wouldn't seem right in my opnion. I like him just the way he is! :) It might be different had he always had lots and lots of locks. :)

  10. Great poem -- and if your hubby hasn't started to go bald by now he is probably safe. My dad had a full head of thick hair when he passed away at age 84!

    Love the kittens!
