A Sign of the Season (Wordless Wednesday) and Suppertime! (Words for Wednesday)

***********************************

Linking up with Wordless Wednesday and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

***********************************

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided by River at Drifting Through Life.

This week's words/prompts are:
1. pizza
2. vase
3. racing
4. chainsaw
5. derelict
6. buttery

and/or:

hand over the ham!

"Sweetheart, what are you doing with that CHAINSAW?" she asked as he tromped through the kitchen, followed by the twins.

"Oh, I was cutting up that DERELICT old treehouse the boys found in the woods.  We're going to build a new one, I was afraid one of them would try to climb in that thing and fall right through."

"That's fine, but why bring the saw in the house -- watch out!  You are getting awfully close to that VASE."

"Oh, this! I'm sorry, when we got back we smelled dinner, and I forgot to stop and put it in the shed."

By this time, the boys were RACING toward the sink to wash up, knowing mom wouldn't let them near food until they did.

Their dad continued, "Do I smell your home-made, BUTTERY pizza crust?"

"Yes," she smiled, "and I even made a Hawaiian pizza, just the way you like it!"

He playfully held up the saw in a mock threat and said, "Hand Over The Ham!  That way nobody gets hurt!"
