Sometimes It's What Happens, and Sometimes What Doesn't (Ten Things of Thankful)

***********************************

This week the thankfuls are as much about a few things that didn't happen as some that did.

Enigma SissyCat has not managed to get away, even though she has tried.  And tried, and tried.  We continue to be thankful that she hasn't succeeded in her escape attempts.

During one capture mission during an escape attempt, after the rain, i slipped and slid  and hit the ground and am thankful that i only ended up bruised.  It could have resulted in broken bones, but that didn't happen, and i am doubly thankful that i also didn't fall on the crazy cat when i went down, nor did i let go of her.

On Wednesday, Ms. G wasn't out of town, so i not only got work and pay, she cleaned out her fridge and freezer and sent me home with items she wasn't going to use but that we will.

Sweetie wasn't able to help me on Friday, and we are thankful he got other work and that i was able to handle the day myself.

Friday night was rEcess, and that will round out the thankfuls.  More of the same sandwiches that were served at the ladies' circle meeting were made, along with potato salad and cole slaw, and everyone loved it.

Valentines were made, and there was glitter.  This time, the glitter was contained, so we will only be finding it for the next two weeks instead of four, i am sure.

For the first time in a long while, i was able to sit and watch during (most of) movie hour.  We saw Moana, and i really did enjoy it.

Best of all, our volunteer who is a pediatrician has convinced several of the pediatric residents at the children's hospital that it would be a good idea for them to see special needs kids outside of the clinic setting, helping with their care.  She feels like it will give them more of a taste of what the parents deal with regularly.  We had four young, energetic, enthusiastic pediatric residents helping, each assigned to assist one of us with a special kid. It was wonderful, everyone got a lot out of it, and there are more residents signed up for next month.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Kristi and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

  9. Residents working outside the hospital reminds me of the TV series New Amsterdam, where the new medical director gets his staff to do things out of their comfort zone and people get the help they need. I love Moana also. Any ideas on why Enigma Sissy-cat is so determined to escape? Glad you didn't break any bones.

  13. Oh, Mimi, that FALL! I am so glad you didn't break anything. I am amazed at your grip in spite of falling. The crazy cat will have a story to tell. 😳
What a great idea of have the pediatric residents helping so they can get an idea of what it is like for the parents and others helping some the children who have special needs.
Cleaning up glitter is the worst, so I am glad you were able to keep it contained.
Hope you have a way less windy week ahead.
