On Getting Fat and Other Fun Stuff, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

Uncle J's birthday was back on Thanksgiving Day this year, and this is about the fourth time that has happened that his birthday and Thanksgiving coincided.  The first time we were teens, so i went and bought him a cookie cake with a turkey on it, and had it say, "A turkey for our turkey born on Turkey Day!"

He wasn't able to come down for Thanksgiving this year, but he did make it for Christmas (he isolated and tested before he came, and drove down instead of flying).  That's why i made extra hojaldras on Christmas Eve for his birthday gift.

When i gave them to him, he hefted the bag and said, "Wow, you made a lot!  Are you trying to make me fat?  I'm going to regain all the weight I lost!"  Laughing, i reminded him of how MawMaw always said that a fat baby is a healthy baby, and he responded, "But I'm not a baby any more, I'm an old man!  And you are even older!"

A couple of days later, he sent me a text message.  "I hate you for making me the hojaldras I'm almost finished already lol.  I'm going to gain so much weight.  Nice seeing you at Christmas, love ya."

Just goes to show that even snotty little brothers can grow up to be decent people eventually. ;)

Okay, now for some fun stuff that Grandma forwards to me, starting with the painted floors:

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

  1. I wonder whether my brothers (all older than I am) think I have grown into a decent human being.

  6. Its nice to have your brother spending Christmas with you. I am okay with 3D painted walls but no thanks with painted floors because I wouldn't dare walk on them. Happy New Year to you and yours.

Yikes on the floors. They are most beautiful, but I think I'd have physical issues trying to walk on them.

  9. Mimi,

Now that's cool, a self cleaning bathroom floor every time you flush or shower. :) That's really wild on the eyes. The deck on the pool cracked me up. lol Thanks for the giggles. I'm ready to kick the old year out the door and bring in a new one. Here's hoping 2021 is a great one for you, me, and the whole world!

  10. Unbelievable Mimi. It's scary just looking at the floor in the bathroom. All the pictures were fantastic. I just want to get rid of 2020. I hope that 2021 will give us a better year.

  15. I must be channeling a giraffe, thanks to Covid, I spend 70% of my day eating too.
And I would definitely not want painted floors that would make me dizzy.

  16. Doesn't Thanksgiving fall on the same date every year? So Uncle J's birthday would always be the same? Or is it a moveable date like Easter?
A good name for that cat would be Quilt, because of the patchwork look.

  17. It's fun when birthday's fall on a holiday. I have an April birthday so sometimes it falls on Easter. My husband and my two kids all have birthday's at the same time as I do so that's three more chances for Easter birthdays!
