Pulling into the driveway, she brought the car to a halt and with her mind in autopilot, shifted into park, pulled up the parking break, turned off the radio and A/C and turned the key, all of it done so fast she didn't even really realize she'd done it until the key was in her hand, lanyard dangling.

With a sigh, she tied the lanyard to her bag, knowing that failure to do this immediately would result in trouble in the form of having to put out an APB for the keys just as she was trying to get out the door to work the next morning.  It was easier to juggle the bag to unlock the front door than wait until after she got in the house to tie it off, she knew that from previous experience.

Once inside she was met with a chorus from the felines telling her that they were starving and neglected and there's no water and the litter box is unacceptable and where have you been!  All of which she answered with a steady stream of yes, yes, you've been neglected terribly and yes, the litter will be scooped immediately after the water bowl is filled and well, after all if there's no work for me to go to, there's no food for you anyway!

Then, bags down, cats quiet for the moment, she kicked her shoes off, peeled the socks away, slipped her toes into her favorite sandals and finally sat down with a big glass of water, thinking, it's good to be home.

My kitchen makes it easy!
