Because i posted a tribute to a friend as last week's Thankful Day post, i have some catching up to do.

There's always plenty, that's a thankful in itself.

Sweetie and i both voted in the recent local election.  There will be a run-off, so it won't be long until we head for the voting booth again.  It's a privilege, right, and thankful thing to be able to vote.

On a rainy Sunday morning, Becca and i thought our walk with Mr. Cal would be cancelled.  We were thankful the rain stopped a few minutes after i arrived, and we did get a walk in.

The next Sunday, we took a new route and enjoyed that as well.

I got to attend a very nice concert at the library.  There's a lovely outdoor area that's perfect for such performances, and while it was windy, the rain stayed away, no need to move indoors to the more crowded second floor.

Our Palm Sunday service and crawfish boil party was the best yet.  I peeled crawfish for Becca so her parents could eat, and she had a blue snowball.  I was even able to keep most of it off her pretty dress, a bonus.

Work with Ms. G has been the usual mixed bag, she's always up to something.  In the past couple of weeks i've been thankful to help her with a few different projects, and at one place where the water wasn't turned on, we were all most thankful for the restroom break after several hours of work when it was.

For the past several years, i have attended the Maundy Thursday service at church.  This year, i found out Ms. A doesn't attend because it's too intense for Becca, and this year the choir director was holding out hope Ms. A could be in the choir (he needed more altos).  I was thankful to be able to go over there and have supper with Becca, play games, and get her into bed while her mama was able to participate.

Our Friday morning prayer group doesn't meet at the church if the office is closed that day, and of course the office is closed Good Friday.  We went to Ms. GA and Mr. BA's house for a breakfast prayer meeting.  It was delightful and Mr. BA had a friend come who might start joining us every Friday.  It went long, so i was also thankful to already be at work when we were done.

Grandpa hasn't been his usual self, we're thankful he finally went to a doctor (no, the doctor won't go to the doctor, big surprise).

The shelter has been doing a brisk business, including adopting out many adult cats.  That's always a thankful thing.

The ladies' circle meeting went very well.  Some of us meet in person, some by Facetime or Zoom, but we all enjoy each other's company.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

  5. A lovely list of thankfuls. Our animal shelters are currently closed to donations because they are so over-full, almost to double their capacity. They are pleading for people to adopt.

  6. Our church's Good Friday service is very dark and intense and no one brings children. What a service you provided to keep Becca company and spare her something she might not understand. Hope Grandpa is better!
