It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.  

Part of today’s post is also a writing challenge. This is how it works: one of the contributing bloggers picked a number between 12 and 50. The submitted number is a challenge to participating bloggers to write at least one piece using that exact number of words.

I've had a few, "Oh, yes, there's always that," or, "Oh, so that's where it went," moments lately.  Saturday before last it was crazy busy at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Everything i started, someone would call me away to go do something else.

At one point, i'd taken a soap dispenser from Grandma's bathroom to refill it for her.  Three times, i was called away, once by Grandpa, asking me to come in the office so he could talk to me and Uncle J about business.

After that, i found where i'd left it and was going to take it to the kitchen where the refill bottle lives when Uncle J called, asking me to please come help him with a project in the front area of the house.

Once i tripped across it again (while dealing with laundry), i once again started toward the kitchen only to have Grandma ask me to straighten the books on her shelves and get the loose books put on them, and neaten the many knickknacks.

The laundry was dinging again and i'd lost track, finally giving up, telling them to be on the lookout for a loose soap dispenser and getting a spare, filling it and getting it into Grandma's bathroom before anything else could happen to it.

Then, this past Saturday as i was changing Grandma's bed, what did i see but that very slippery soap dispenser

right on the bookshelf i'd been straightening, of course.  I cleaned it out and put it away, figuring it's only a matter time.

Carl, naturally, is good for causing such moments.  Last Thursday i was there to clean the rest of the house and he was still having breakfast.  As he got up to head out the door, he stashed his milk cup in the fridge.

"You need a cover for that," i warned him.  "Your mama's rule, if you don't cover it, it's thrown away, and is that even enough to keep?"  "Of course it is," he answered reproachfully, taking the still coverless cup to his own fridge.

Yesterday i was there to clean his room, and what did i find in his fridge?  If you guessed the quarter cup of milk, still lidless, you're right.  It was next to the bowl with one piece of lettuce left from a salad.

And oh, yes, there's always the sock issue with him.  He never has quite enough socks, since every time he grabs a pair, he puts them down, forgets, and grabs another pair.  I find them everywhere, still bundled together and thrown all over.

When he does his own laundry, you never know where the socks will end up.  He has been known to match them, but sometimes puts three together instead of two, which always makes me laugh.  I'm so glad we don't have three feet.
