Come a Little Closer (Cajun Joke), Sunday Selections and a Sunday Selfie

 ***********************************

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Grandma and i got to talking about old cars.  We both remember bench seats with no seat belts and children bouncing around in the back of a station wagon, unlet, unhindered and untethered by anything.

Grand-père Boudreaux done be talkin' to Tee Boudreaux, tellin' him 'bout de cars "back in de day."

He be sayin, "We done had us to shift, an' each person din't have hims own seat, de seats be mo' like de couch, jes fit as many as kin fit, an' no seat belts."

Tee done gots him a hard time wit' dat, an' he ax, "Didn't dat be dangerous?"

An' Grand-père done say, "Mebbe, but it were fun, too."

"What you mean, fun?" ax Tee.

"Well, when you done be goin' out wit' de girl you be sweet on, you done take you de sharp lef' turn an' it make her slide across de seat an' she done end up sittin' nex' to you.  If'n she din't slide back over to de far side, den she jes' might be sweet on you, too."

Tee done t'ink 'bout dat, an fin'ly he ax, "Did it done work?  Did she want get sweet on you, too?"

An' Grand-père smile an' say, "Mais, oui, we done be marry over fifty year!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child, who is taking a blog break.

Just what got snapped this week.

This week, The Charismatic Enigma SissyCat wants to join the Kitties Blue at The Cat On My Head for their Sunday Selfies Blog Hop.

She calls this her, "I'm comfy in my chair and don't want to move" selfie.

  4. The fiery night sky shots are wonderful. It's also great to see such colours in that display. Rich reds and subtle blues are so welcome at this time of year.
