Rolling Along, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

The thankful days keep rolling through October.

Many Saturdays lately, Grandma falls asleep for her nap just as i am done cleaning and we don't get to visit much.  I'm thankful this week she napped early so we got to spend some time together.

I'm also thankful Grandpa went to the church fair up the street to get lunches for himself and Grandma (Sweetie and i aren't big on fried fish) and when someone saw him in line to get in when the fair opened, sent a worker to see what he needed and go ahead and get him those lunches before they even quite opened for the day.

I'm thankful when people take special care of the elderly.

Last week, the main key to GusGus die Fledermaus had disappeared between Sweetie driving home from Kevin and Lenny's and us going to Ms. SE's to work.  Saturday i am thankful to say i found it among my supplies.  Either he dropped it there because i was busy, or i did, but either way, it's nice to have a key with a working remote again.

Ms. A was still out of town visiting the new grandson, and Becca started to get very teary at one point Sunday, missing her mama.  I'm thankful asking her about the parade and the park day for special needs people restored her, as she'd enjoyed both.

I'm thankful she did have fun at the school parade where she was queen, and she got to ride a horse and eat jambalaya and play games and get her face painted and everything at the park day.

Speaking of grandchildren, i was thankful to get to spend over an hour with my little Annie Sunday evening while her parents went out.

Monday had plenty of busy plans, i'm thankful i got up and got going a bit early.  Carl's place was done except folding the towels when it was time for me to digress.

It was my daughter-in-law's first day back at work after her maternity leave and she had online meetings where she'd have to have camera and microphone on.  #2 Son had meetings all day he couldn't get out of, so i'd agreed to come after cleaning Carl's, watch my little Annie for an hour and a half, then go finish up the day.

I was very thankful to be with the baby 2 days in a row, thankful the towels were ready to fold as soon as i got back to Carl's and thankful Ms. S was willing to let me arrive a bit later than usual.

I'm thankful for a mostly flexible job.

Ms. G had two funerals on Wednesday, so i was at her place by myself a lot and got it all done, even if she was calling and micromanaging from a distance.  I'm thankful i can keep my sense of humor about it all.

Thursday was turn the mattress day for October at Ms. V's and i'm thankful i can still flip and turn mattresses.

The cat shelter is busy and doing well, both Wednesday and Friday were good and Friday evening Ms. M and i once again got to train a new volunteer.  We are always thankful for new volunteers, and the two adoptions that evening as well.
