My first attempt at a story was depressing, about those we miss at the holidays.
The second involved a pun about a shady character which just wasn't going to work out.
I tried several things to come up with an idea, reading, free association, doing chores to get my mind off it -- you know it's bad when you are doing extra work around the house to try to shake your muse out of a slump.
Nothing worked, and it's getting late, and tomorrow comes very early as my usual holiday schedule takes over, drive to NOLA, clean the kitchen, cook a meal, clean up from a meal, drive home.
It seems there's no rest for the weary, even on holidays.
Except, of course, for my muse, who seems to have slipped into a shadow somewhere for a good, long nap.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
Although i might like to visit here
"far from the madding crowd"
and use it as a get-away
when my crazy life gets too loud,
no way do i want to live here
for the rest of my life
the commute to work or visit kin
would really cause me strife!

Angel Brian's Family of Brian's Home - Forever hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. It's time to share something for which i am thankful.
Today i'm thankful we were able to secure a rental car through Saturday, as it's going to be crazy busy and with our cars, it's not worth the chance.
