Where did we leave off? Oh, yes, I'd done a double Friday and was supposed to babysit Saturday.
Things don't always go as planned, and #2 Son sent a text asking if His Bride's Aunt A could babysit instead, as she hadn't seen the baby in almost a month and was begging to do it.
I was thankful for an opportunity to be cooperative and supportive and agreed i'd see them later in the week. Besides, i don't want to be "that mother-in-law."
After last week's drippy drizzle, Becca, Mr. Cal and i were thankful for nicer weather for walking Sunday morning before church.
During a busy Monday, i was thankful to find time to get both groceries and flea meds for the cats.
The cats are very, very thankful for the flea medicine, too. Of course, the fleas are probably not, but nobody asked them.
Mr. L is feeling better. He's still hurting, but not nearly as much as two weeks ago. Both Monday and Thursday when i was over there cleaning, he was up and moving better and didn't seem to be in as much distress.
Tuesday i got the menu set for Thanksgiving and all the food ordered which needed ordering and i'm thankful to have that part done.
Ms. G ended up out of town on Wednesday which meant no work, but i was thankful to be able to stay extra long at the shelter and run errands. I'm especially thankful i got to pick up something early for next rEcess and take it to the church for storage.
It was another two job Thursday, and i was thankful my Sweetie came and helped with Ms. GA's house.
We were thankful to find out she'd gotten the stray cat, Missy, into the house and will get her spayed soon.
That evening was my reward for passing on taking care of the baby earlier in the week as i got to have her to myself for two hours while her parents caught up on a few things.
Friday was the adventure, we'd had our first really cold night and woke to Slow-Moe's power steering going out on my way to the church to make coffee for the two Bible studies.
After stopping the car and starting it again, it came back up, but i was spooked about driving it to NOLA and was in a bit of a quandary.
I'm thankful Sweetie's friend J loaned me the truck so i could go to NOLA.
Once there, i'm thankful Grandpa and i got everything on Grandma's list to make the items she wants me to cook for Thanksgiving.
I'm also thankful even with the very late start, i actually got to NOLA and got all the work done.
And Grandpa, as he does every year, gave us a whole smoked turkey which is much bigger than any of us can use, so it went to the friend with the truck to thank him for his help.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

Hooray for thankfulness - a gift that keeps giving.
ReplyDeleteThank yo for smiles cozyness and laughter. This one cracked me up: "The cats are very, very thankful for the flea medicine, too. Of course, the fleas are probably not, but nobody asked them."
ReplyDelete"Can You Find Your Old Rubik's Cube and Still Work It Day." Yes to both. It stands here, next to my monitor, the original one form somewhen in the '70ies, and yes, I can still solve it - in two different ways even. The second way I only learned this summer - it keeps your head young ... and your wrists and thumbs achy ;)
Just think how quickly Thanksgiving is going to be upon us. It sounds like you've got food under control. Glad you got to see the baby for a little bit because she's probably a little bit hard to share sometimes.
ReplyDeleteLots of great thankfuls ~ so glad you are doing well with all you have to do ~ Hugs,
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
clm ~ A ShutterBug Explores,

Those were all really nice thankfuls and you do have some nice clients and friends.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a cocker spaniel named "Missy" She was my brother's dog and when he could no longer have her where he lived, she came to me for the last five years of her life. It broke my heart when Missy passed away.
ReplyDeleteWe've been having lots of rain here. I'll be glad for some drier weather...but our summer predictions are for more rain, more wild weather and storms. Dammit!
Take good care. :)
Lots of lovely thankfuls and I'm glad you got a couple of hours with the baby. I never want to be "that mother-in-law" either.
ReplyDeleteWonderful thankful list. I am glad Missy was captured. XO
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "The fleas deserve everything they've got coming to them."
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Our Dada's dog when he was younger was named Missy! Well, technically 'Miss Marple', but nobody called her that unless she was in trouble ..."
lol (the above Commentor) had the same copy/paste "Of course, the fleas are probably not, but nobody asked them."
ReplyDelete;p
excellent line
"...it went to the friend with the truck" which is why you are the Godmother of Grats
Your lists are a joy to my heart. A very happy and peaceful Thanksgiving, Mimi, to you and all.
