It's been a great I Am So Thankful Month and it has ended with, well, quite a week.
It began last Friday, about two hours after i left off from the previous list. For those who didn't see my Wordless Wednesday post with the whole story, it boils down to:
#1 Son's car lost a wheel on his way home from work in one of the worst parts of town in the middle of the night
a kind deputy sheriff stopped to wait for the tow truck with him
when the tow truck finally arrived, a crazy driver hit a parked car, tried to flee and hit the tow truck, then still managed to drive away, the deputy in hot pursuit
the tow driver, his truck undamaged, still managed to get the car to Kevin and Lenny's shop.
We're very thankful #1 Son was not doing 60mph on the interstate when his axle cracked, thankful all of us were on the sidewalk when the crazy driver came roaring through, thankful Kevin and Lenny's shop was able to fix the car before the Thanksgiving holiday, and thankful we were able to give #1 Son rides to work so he didn't have to miss any because of the car.
#2 Son and His Bride had tickets to a local team football game for Saturday, thus i'd cleaned Grandma and Grandpas on Friday and i was thankful to be able to sleep in a little Saturday. I'm also thankful for a wonderful night with my little Annie, who is now trying to smile.
After the late night Friday and then again Saturday,, it's no wonder i wasn't on my game for Sunday. I showed up and Becca's and knew as soon as i arrived something was wrong and Mr. J's truck wasn't there and the front door wasn't unlocked for me.
They've only been going out of town the week of Thanksgiving for about 20 years now, it's no wonder i forget each year and show up to get Becca only to find they aren't there.
I'm thankful they were on their wonderful family trip and thankful i got to spend the time doing something i've wanted to do for a while, drive around their neighborhood and take some photos before heading to church.
Because our cars are none too reliable and now #1 Son's car was out, i was thankful to be able to secure a rental when i called Monday, car to be picked up Wednesday afternoon.
No client wants to be skipped out on just because it's a holiday, i'm thankful my Sweetie and i were able to clean Ms. SE's house on Tuesday instead of Thursday. They'd left for the hunting camp for the week so we were thankful to finish a bit earlier than usual.
Wednesday was scheduled to be busy and it was. Sweetie, thankfully, was able to pick up all the food we'd preordered for the big meal and get it all in the fridge.
My visit to the cat shelter went well, then i went to the satellite place where i take care of more cats up for adoption. While there, a nice young lady came by who'd had an awful morning, and i was thankful to be able to let her hold and pet the kittens for quite a while. She left feeling much better.
Also while there a lady approached and said she'd adopted Noonie from there, the one several months back who had an injured lip they hadn't been able to correct. The lady's vet had managed to actually perform a special surgery and Noonie is now happy and healthy and living the life. It's always a thankful thing when you know an adoption worked out just right.
Ms. G got plenty of work out of both of us that day, i was thankful we stopped for lunch and thankful we got the work done in time for me to go get Sweetie and get to the car rental place.
Thursday, #1 Son came over to ride to NOLA with me, but decided to take his car as his stomach wasn't doing so well (he had food poisoning, we later found out). Sweetie and Brother-in-Law came later, so i was thankful for a reliable rental car with plenty of room for all the food.
Once down there, i was thankful to be able to find the cleaning supplies (the kitchen has to be rebuilt after the plumbing leak), get everything clean, make the macaroni and corn and warm up all the other food, serve the meal to those who stayed (#1 Son headed home and Uncle J went to lie down on his heating pad as his back was really hurting), then get the food packed away and the kitchen re-cleaned.
We also had a safe trip back, another thankful.
Friday i was thankful we met for prayer and Bible study at Mr. BA and Ms. GA's house, and once we were done, i simply stayed to clean.
The cat shelter was closed, but i was thankful to get to go volunteer anyway as they'd only scheduled one paid care specialist to come in and do the whole place by herself! She'd have been there forever, as it was we were done in two hours, she did the medications and all the sick or contagious cats and the intake room, i took care of all the healthy animals, fresh food and water for everyone.

Thought I was out of breath reading this post, Mimi, but after reading your Wordless Wednesday post, there's no question, lol. It does however, appear in spite of the drama, late nights and the rest, all worked out well. And that, is a huge thankful.
