Events, Badges, and Looking Forward to Thanksgiving, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

 ***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

Carl, as i confirmed last week, works three days this week, including yesterday when i went to clean.

It's always helpful that way.  Unless, of course, i arrive to see this.

Flashing from this...

...to this.

Yep, he'd washed a load and dried it just fine, but something got hung up in that second load and the water was still in the washer.  Not knowing how long it had been like that, i just drained it and rewashed it all.

He's back to hanging clothes from his counter.  He does this so he won't have to pick what to wear in the morning.

No, of course he doesn't wear what he hung up, he goes and gets a new outfit anyway, why would you ask?

This is why we are down to four dryer balls, from a high of seven.  I'd take bets on how long these will be around but it would be too complicated.

In the fridge

almost empty cup

empty cup

and a variety of things, avocados, his new bag of throat lozenges (yes, he has three open bags in the bathroom, so what?), his new bottle of Listerine and and a new bottle of gas pills, all loose in the bag.

Also this.

Why take the whole roll of Tums out when you can just open it a little and take out one?

He was a reluctant riser yesterday.  Once he went to his sleep chair, he ignored the beep of the timer and snoozed away until he popped up and ran for the shower.  He came out fully dressed, i'd already set everything up.

I got to him with the apron just in time as he was going to sit and eat, and set about making his lunch.  "Will I have enough?" he asked.

Let's see, sandwich, cheese stick, fresh fruit, a fruit cup, carrot sticks, peanuts, animal cookies and caramel popcorn for a five hour shift.  Yep, i think he's good.

His next topic of conversation was, "Events?"

I looked at him and he said, "At church.  I missed everything last month, any events coming up?"

For this, i pulled out the church bulletin i'd brought to give Ms. V.  (They are members, but Mr. L is mostly homebound and Ms. V won't drive so far by herself, so she watches online and goes to a small church closer to home to sing in the choir.)

I showed him all the upcoming events, Live Nativity, the Cantata, the Downtown Pilgrimage.  He nodded, said, "Got it," then added, "how do I get there?"

That is for his parents to decide.  They don't like him driving so far into town by himself, either, even in the daytime.  Maybe we can give him a ride at some point, but that's a big maybe considering our schedules and the current status of our cars.

After weeks of him asking about finding his work badge, i noticed a bagful of generic work badges with no name on them.  One of the managers probably handed it to him after getting tired of him always without one.

He asked about a sweater although the day was going to warm up nicely without getting too hot.   I found him a sweater and put one of the badges on it, and he promptly threw it on the hood of the car instead of putting it on.  Heaven only knows where it (and the badge) will end up.

Not taking bets on how long the half dozen badges last him, either.

As he ran for the door, he asked, "Phone?"

I hadn't seen it and he looked for a short time (as did i), but it was a no go.  I asked about using the iPad and find-a-phone and he said, "No time!" as he ran for the car.

He's going to be thankful for the days off at the end of the week.  And the food.  He’s especially going to be thankful for the food.

Thanksgiving memes, some old, some new.

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!
